Armywifettc1 - I am trying to reduce the amount of refined sugars and white starches as possible. I don't eat dessert in the evenings, I eat fruit, and I am trying to add more interesting fruits and veggies into my diet. I have lost 6 lbs. simply from eating more fruits and veggies and less refined starches. I have always been one who loves her cake after supper, and so I am trying to reduce that, keeping in mind the most important principal- It is not what you eat, it is how much. Weight Watchers understands this very well, they really are a good organization. They don't ask you to cut any foods, simply to reduce what you are eating and make good choices. Since I am TTC#1, I am avoiding artifical sweeteners, which is why I am eating fruits in the evening for my sweets. I use to eat a lot of low fat things, like ice cream, etc, but most of those contain some type of artifical sweetener, I am want to stay away from them right now.... so, I say, go natural, eat what nature intended us to eat! Tonight I have a fabulous mango and pomegranite, they were wonderful! Good luck!!!

HI LADIES!!!! I am so happy to be able to post again...I am back home recovering...Thank you SO much for asking about me...What I had done was exactly like a csection, so it will be 6-8 weeks before I can exercise again...I am super sore, due to the abdominals being cut. getting in and out of bed is the hardest task...Coughing and laughing are excruciating!! My husband is very funny too, so it's been tough for him to hold back his wit...He's been so sweet as I have really needed lots of help to do everything...
Something so bittersweet about this whole experience...I did this surgery to improve our chances of conceiving...Well just after my surgery, I was placed on the maternity wing of hospital...So I was next to lots of new mommies...Kind of kept me focused why I did this...
WELL let me say WELCOME :welcome: to the new ladies who have joined the weight loss thread!!! I am so excited to have started a nice group here!!! Armywife,IrishEyes and bb2..Charter members!! You have done SO well, I am amazed and so happy for you...I only wish I could say the same...I felt so healthy and strong going into this surgery...My workouts were so regular, weight loss would have come soon.

I am not able to eat much post surgery, due to the swelling/bloat. (I look 6mos pregnant-seriously) So we'll see...I did weigh in Friday at 166 still! Well girls, long post, but just happy to be back and OFF the narcotic pain killers...I threw them in the trash-Yuck. It's just Aleve the past two days...I'll be ready for next Friday's weigh in...Bye for now! donna

BlueSkye.... Glad to hear your surgery went well sorry to hear its sore I wish you a speedy recovery.....

armywifettc1 For me I try to stick to a 1200 calories a day diet and when I workout I aim to burn off 500 calories heres a typical day eating plan for me

Breakfast... fruit and weight watchers yogurt

Lunch.... toasted sandwich with weight watchers white bread

Snack.... fruit and healthy bar with 70 calories in it

Dinner...... changes from day to day try to stay 550 calories or under

I've kinda slipped out of this for the last two weeks but have been going well now since friday worked out every day and stuck to my diet its my sisters birthday on tuesday so will have a small amount of birthday cake will just cut out my snack for that day

Exercise

Postby armywifettc1 » Sun Nov 04, 2007 2:02 pm

Today, I went to Curves. It was a great experience and I even produced some sweat!!! I had a Slim Fast shake for breakfast then went to the gym. However, I went out with DH to do some errands, we both got hungry, and ended up at McDonald's. What a temptation. So, I feel like my time at the gym was pointless. POINTLESS! I know I could've ordered a salad or something but instead I had Chicken Strips and fries. I'll definitely do much better for dinner.

Thanks ladies for all of the tips. I will do my best to make these adjustments without going on a starvation diet.

Bye for now!

I'M BACK!! First of all, :welcome: to all the new ladies and :congrats: , charlotteb! That is such exciting news!! So, I didn't have access to the internet the entire time I was gone. I had 60-something e-mails when I got home today and just got done catching up on all the posts between the Friday before last and now... WHEW! Also, I haven't stepped on a scale since before I left, so, I'm really nervous about this Friday. I ate TERRIBLY while I was home, so, I hope you ladies don't kick me out after you see my weight this Friday.

Well, my best friend had a GORGEOUS baby girl at 1:31 p.m. on Oct. 30. She has a perfect, porcelain complexion and is just the cutest thing I've ever seen. She weighed 6 lbs. 8 ozs. and was 19 inches long. Her name is Leah Elizabeth Butler. I'll try to get a couple of pics on here sometime.

I'm SO glad to be back!! I thought about you ladies while I was gone and hoped you all didn't think I'd abandoned the group. My husband has created a workout plan for me, so, I have to hit the gym hard from now on. I'll keep you posted. Hope everyone is doing well and it's GREAT TO BE BACK!

I really hope that I can join.

I am 27, 5'9 and about 175lbs. . I am now putting off ttc #1 until January, in order to get my body in better shape and because we have to wait until our insurance starts again.

I am so excited. Has anyone heard of the blood type diet? I lost 12 pounds in one month, about a year ago and now I am going to try again.

If anyone is interested go to www.dadamo.com. It can tell you a little more there.

Heather, Of course you can join us!! :D I have heard of the blood type diet before but pretty much just the name I know nothing about it so I am gonna check that site out. We weigh in on fridays just so you know. I will add you to out list of people!!

Army_wife_ttc, My laptop is being silly and I cant see pictures today for some reason, hopefully I will get to see the pics later!! Its great to have you back, I totally forgot you left and I was wondering where you were :D Dont worry we would never kick you out, and you never know cause the weeks I ate horribly I ended up losing but I guess I was still working out. But when I go home I always slip a little, you have to have fun with your family and friends and not worry the whole time :D So what kind of work out plan did your dh make for you?? Does he work out a lot??

Armywifettc1, I have heard good things about curves, lots of people like it there. I know what you mean about mcdonalds, if we are out on the weekends it is soo easy to just eat fast food, and I am the same if I go to mcdonalds I cant just have a salad. But your work out wasnt pointless becuase you still worked off some of what you ate. are you going to curves a lot?? or just starting there??

Irisheyes, do you find it difficult to stick to 1200 calories a day?? I have wanted to do that but I think it would be so hard, I actually have no idea how many I do eat and it may be that anyways. I should count for a couple days what I am eating!!

Blueskye, it is so good to have to back and I am glad everything is going well so far. I was going to ask you what the surgery was like but you said like a c-section, that must suck a little but you must be so happy that it is done now and I am sure you will get pg now when you can start trying. How long do you have to wait to start trying?? That is great that your still 166 and since you are soo swollen I am sure its less, 6 wks will go by fast and you will be able to work out again, just try and eat as healthy as possible for now!!

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful start to there week!!

:welcome: , kristylee!! You are absolutely welcome to join and inspiring is our specialty.

ArmyWife - My DH is a workout maniac!! He is really into weight-lifting b/c he was in the powerlifting clubs when he was in high school. He got a lot of awards for being able to lift so much. He's also trying to maintain his muscle and endurance for his military measurements and PT tests...you know how that goes... He made me a workout plan that combines cardio and minor weight-lifting. I'm starting on it tomorrow morning. I wanted to start today, but I just had to catch up on some of my sleep after driving those 10 hours to get back.

Well, ladies, I went to a nurtrition class today. I thought it was going to be a total waste of time, since I thought I knew all there was to know about the food pyramid, etc., etc. However, I did take away some pretty interesting facts. She broke down serving sizes, how many calories are in each serving, the best fats to consume and the easiest ways to burn them, etc. I enjoyed it and I think it'll help me do a lot better w/ eating properly.

Time to get some supper in me and head off to class. Hope you ladies are having a great week, so far!!

Hi Everybody!

So, I went back to curves today. Man, I feel kinda sore in some places. I hope after a while I get better at this. My body is so not used to regular exercise at all!!!

ArmyWife, I'm just starting out with Curves. Today was my second time. It's going great so far. I'm really hoping I can stick with it and with the groups motivation I'm sure I can.

Well, let see...

Today, I had cereal for breakfast, a home cooked lunch with a small piece of chocolate with almonds (I'm trying so hard to cut back from the junk) and a cold cut sandwich for dinner.

I know that's not the best but I'm really trying....

Bye for now!!!

I'd like to join also. I have struggled to get off the weight I put on living in a tiny house... now that we have moved to a bigger place and I am taking a dance class, it should be easier. I started at 180 (I am 5"8") and am now at 163. I weigh every morning after going to the bathroom; that's when you weigh the least, and I log everything I eat. I have been doing this since May, and have lost 13 lbs. I would love some support and would love to give it as well!

Well it has been awfully quiet on here lately!! I guess I didnt post either though, haha!
Only 1 more day until weigh in ladies!! I am excited!!

Blueskye, how are you doing?? You have been quiet on here but I am guessing your are still recovering! Have you been able to eat now??

Irisheyes, how has the week been for you?? did you end up being able to do the 1200calories a day all week??

bb2, I dont know if I missed a post, are you away right now?? I havent seen a post from you for awhile. How have you been doing??

armywifettc1, thats great that you have started at curves, do you have someone who sort of trains you with every workout there?? I am never been so I am curious. Have you been going during the week more times?? In your post it didnt sound like you were eating to bad, rarely a day goes by that I dont eat atleast 1 piece of chocolate, I have an addiction I think :D

army_wife_ttc, I didnt even put two and two together, of course your husband works out, they have too, haha. I am assuming you are in the states and therefore your hubby is American army?? I am in Canada!

Kristylee, :welcome: to the group, we love to have lots of people around to motivate one another. I have a hard time sticking to diets and stuff too, I focus more on excercise. I started wieght watchers online in september and I dont stick to it as much now, but I can say that it has really helped me just start eating better all around because I think about how much points something would be and then I dont wanna eat it. We wiegh in on fridays here, so tomorrow and I will update out list tomorrow so you just need to let me know your wieght and your goal and then I will add you to the list!! :D

Tel985, I am doing wieght watchers online right now, that is an awesome wieght loss for 1 months, great job. Are you doing the flex plan???
like I said to kristy we wiegh in one fridays here and I will add you to our list if you give me your info too :D

wyomingbabydust and Heather, how have you been this week?? Heather did you start the blood group diet again??

Well I hope I didnt forget anyone, I hope you all had a great week so far!!!
