i exercise sporadically but nothing consistant since this summer. i'm a member of a gym but haven't gone regularly and it's about time that i go back. they have some great classes, yogo, pilates, and other low impact stuff so maybe i'll give those a whirl too.

any suggestions for healthy treats? i love treats and snacks so some good advice or hints would be appreciated!!!

thanks army wife, i will soon be an air force wife so i feel connected to you already! i did ok this weekend, i had a dinner party last night with homemade pizza and root beet floats, but i did really good at the beginning of the day, like 500 calories, so i felt like i could splurge a little at dinner. same with today, light breakfast and a little heavier dinner. if my scale was right i dropped .4 lbs so far. yay!

Awesome. I can't exercise right now because my doctor told me to hold off. I'm just trying to eat right so I can either maintain or lose weight. I surely don't want to increase. I think my DH is getting annoyed that I keep asking him if he thinks I'm fat or if I look fat in something. I really want to lose this weight!

You are doing well though! I need to keep a food journal. I think I might start an online one.

i just started doing one with the journal on here since i'm on here a good chunk of the day anyway! i'm going to try and hit the gym a couple of times this week. if i could run twice a week and play basketball one night i think that might help. but mostly i just need to eat better. that's really what it all boils down to. i've noticed that if i plan my meals out, have menus and grocery shop according to my menu then i do much better. it's just getting back into that habit is what's so hard for me.

WELCOME Koltnsuz!!
I have a problem with snacking too, haha but I can tell you since mid august I have lost 30lbs so it still works, I do work out a lot though!
I try and snack on healthy things, yogurt, rice cakes, veggies, fruits but I crave all the salty and bad things all the time so its hard, I dont like to deprive myself too much!
I did follow weight watchers online for awhile and it helped me to see what foods were really bad for me and now I always think about it a little more before I will indulge in something!!

well so far today i had yogurt and granola for breakfast and a pear and trail mix, mostly nuts, for a snack. i have a lean cuisine for lunch and that shuold be good. there is chocolate here at work and i turned it down, so that's a big step for me!!!! i just hate starting over. it takes so long to get results and the first couple weeks are always the hardest for me. my dh is working a grave tonight and leaves at 6:30, i shuold just go to the gym when he leaves for work since i won't have much to do anyway!

Hi ladies!

Sorry that I haven't posted since the #4 thread! :( However, I do have some great news. I've been exercising and eating healthy consistantly for a couple of weeks now and I've dropped 5lbs! My first week I only lost .5 :/ But this week I added in the exercise which is no doubt what caused the 4lbs to drop off. I also know it's water weight, but it's the results I needed to keep myself going.

I think I went up a pound after I decided to join in with you guys, but now I'm down to 151.5.

There is a "Biggest Loser" contest at my place of work running from Jan 4th to May 2nd and the goal is to lose no more than 32lbs in 16 weeks. So that has also kept me on a healthy diet. In fact, I decided to forget the "fad" diets and follow the Danni Diet :p Mainly to eat as healthy as possible each day but not beat myself up if I slip up and just do better the next day. It's been a lot easier than I thought, especially after the first week. I drink nothing but no caloric drinks which I think is a major improvement for me. I only drink water, green tea, and little bit of coffee. I've been trying to eat smaller meals more often each day and I've drastically changed what I eat. I alway have a source of protein and veggies or fruit with each meal.

I'm really excited and I actually gasped in surprise. I thought I might go down another .5 or 1 at the most. I'm really looking forward now to the weeks to come. For anyone who is interested in my exercise, for now, I'm only DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), it's a game for the Playstation. It doesn't feel like exercise at all and is a lot of fun. I highly recommend it because not only are the songs good, but it grades how well you do and it makes the replayability pretty high since you can get into trying to beat your scores. The biggest thing for me is that it doesn't feel like exercise at all. I needed something fun that I could do that I could stick too. I do plan on getting a space for yoga set up this weekend though and start incorporating that into my exercise regime as well.

Skye congrats! Too all the ladies who've lost and/or reached your goal(s) congrats as well!

Take care now ladies!

Hey Ladies,
well I am up a pound at 135 now but I got AF this week too and I am super bloated!
I hurt my back somehow so I wasnt able to go to the gym the last couple days but I am hoping to get there today!

Congrats Danni that is awesome news, what a great loss and great motivation to keep at it. DH bought me DDR for christmas because I told him it is great for working out so now I just need to start using it!

Irisheyes, its ok, 1 lb is not too bad and it may just be some bloat, I fall off the wagon too sometimes!!

oodahlali, Congrats that is awesome!!!

Hi all!
I went away to Disneyland for my birthday last week and indulged myself.. that's a lot easier to do when there isn't a scale around, but luckily I got back and only gained 1 pound, so I am still hovering around at 158-160, which is okay for me. My sister and I are looking at joining a gym together and working out after work a few days a week, so I am looking forward to that.

Hey girls! My dh is supposed to come home sometime in April and I want to lose some weight before he gets then. I haven't decided on a number yet cuz I haven't weighed myself in a VERY long time, but I just want to feel better about myself and look *amazing* when he sees me for the first time in 6+ months! I'm staying with my parents now but I will be home by Feb 8th and that's when I plan on getting strict with my diet and workout... I've already been working on some stuff (eating smaller portions, drinking water instead of pop, working out for a few minutes in the morning...sometimes lol). I plan on joining the YMCA on base when I go back, and once it gets nicer I'll walk there. My goal weight (assuming I don't get pregnant before I make it *crosses fingers*) is 140. I know I weigh at least 180 now, probably closer to 190. I'm also going to buy a scale when I get home (yep, don't have one, neither does my mom lol) and I bought a measuring tape so I can see how much I've lost and where it was from. I wear a 17-18 now and would love to wear a 12 or less! DH also told me that as long as I find a job when I get home I can buy an eliptical! But I may put that off for a while because we have a lot of vacations coming up over the summer. Well I just wanted to share my story and let you all know my plan.

Good luck to everyone!
On November 12, 2009, a 6 pound 12 ounce
baby boy changed my life forever...

Good morning! Welcome wifeymeag! It sounds like you have a good plan! Keep us updated on how you are doing!

I lost another 2 pounds! I am at 158! I am so glad to be in the 150's again! It's given me more motivation to work out.

I just wanted to let you girl know that I am going to Switzerland on Monday and won't be back for a week and a half. My dear friend ( we had our miscarriage and D&C the same day) has had a second missed miscarriage at 12 weeks and she isn't doing so well. She is not getting out of bed or talking to anyone anymore so her mom and grandmother are flying me out there to be with her. Prayers would be greatly appreciated. :o) So.. I just wanted to tell you where I was incase you were wondering why the weights weren't being updated!

See you all in two weeks!
