Hey Redmamaroo, of course you can join us, the board seems to be pretty quiet these days so we always love new people!!!
Dont feel bad about your weight, the important thing is that you stay motivated as that is hard to do. I know you say you have been dieting and nothing has happened, I am a strong believer in not really dieting, I really truley think exercise makes all the difference in the world. I was once 200lbs, could have been more but never wieghed myself until I had been working out for awhile. I lost 40 real fast with just exercise, No diet what so ever, in fact I even ate kind of crappy still. Then I lost another 20 over about a year and was down to 140. Well lots of shitty things happened last year and due to that and being pregnant and losing it I was back up to 164 in august, I am now 135.
So you CAN do it!!

thanks...I know I can do. that's the sad thing, I know exactly what it takes to loose the weight, cause I have done if before. The year we got preg with dd I lost 50 pounds, went clear down to 135, I looked great, I felt great and then I started have issues with periods coming every two weeks, (like now) and my doc put me on prometrium to regulate them, regular bc pills give me terrible migraines, so they thought it wasn't too safe. anyway, after three months of that I had put back all of the weight and 5 extra pounds. I had quit smoking three months before, for the second and final time and I don't know if that contributed to the weight gain or not, but either way, I was back up to 181 and not happy about it. We had been off the pills for about two weeks and decided to stop trying to get pg until I took it back off again, we went out and bought some new excerise equipment and free weights, we do body for life, when I actually participate and that morning I thought I feel different somehow, I am not sure what it is, but I feel different, I told dh, I need to take a pg test and he said don't be silly, you're not pg and I said yeah I am...I just know it and sure enough I was pg and the rest is history...except my ever expanding waist line :x But I am waiting until the end of the month to HPT and see what comes with that. Either way I am going to be active non stop, I moved to an awesome neighborhood, the park is a block from my house and walmart and a couple other stores I frequent are right around the block so we will be walking EVERYWHERE this spring and summer have a great jeep stroller with mp3 hookup and I will be making lots of use of that...but any advice on how you mangaed it or what you did would be helpful. I am always up for pointers. Thanks and good luck to everyone...happy shedding of pounds!

well ladies... i am FINALLY at home, and i'm already losing weight! i weighed myself for the first time in i don't even know how long last thursday at my aunt's... 187.9. i can't believe i have gained so much weight back!! but that is just the first step right? so i bought my own scale, and took my measurements, and started watching my diet. now i snack on carrots, grapes, peaches, chips and salsa instead of cookies and little debbies and ice cream. i've been drinking a ton of water, almost no pop (a sprite here and there) and cranberry juice. i went to the gym for the first time in 10 months yesterday and i think one of my neighbors is going to start going with me at night. i'm also walking my dog (at my parents, she just went in the backyard, we don't have a fence at our house though) so that's doing some good too. i'm already almost to my initial goal of 10 pounds by april!! i'm so excited and i feel great!!

how is everyone else doing? i hope you all are having good luck

Want to lose 20 lbs with me?

Postby LoneStar » Mon Feb 18, 2008 8:58 am

Hi girls! May I join in your group? I've been TTC#1 since the beginning of 2007. At the beginning of our TTC journey I kind of adopted the motto "well, I'm going to be pregnant soon so that extra piece of cheesecake won't make a difference.." I'm sure lots of women go through this. Well, fast forward to now and I'm about 20lbs heavier!! I keep blaming it on TTC and a recent move (which isn't too recent anymore). I'm just looking for some support from women who know exactly where I'm coming from.

I'm going to try being conscious of my food intake right now. I'm hoping to join Weight Watchers (it's worked in the past for me), but I can't afford the meetings right now.

Hi everyone
Friday again. Lost another 2 pounds this week - I'm now 164.3

Hi and Welcome Lonestar. And you're right I used to do the same thing. I was always going to start my diet but then I'd be in the 2ww and not want to eat less because I might be pg and then AF would arrive and I'd get carb cravings so I'd pig out on chocolate and chips etc. So every month I'd have 1 good week and 3 bad. I too joined Weight Watchers but meetings just aren't convenient for me so I joined online - it's much cheaper too.
