Hi Jesse:

Here is my story:

I met my husband when I was 28. I thought I would never get married. We were engaged after dating a year and married in eight months of that date! I was married on December 20, 1997 when I was 30. I truly thought I would come home from my honeymoon pregnant and was a bit confused as to why we weren't getting pregnant but didn't worry yet.

Here is a picture of my wedding party. The lake behind us is Lake Ronkonkoma on Long Island. I learned to swim in that lake and grew up not more than five minutes from where we had our reception. It was a day wedding (cheaper..I paid for my wedding) and had a Christmas theme. There was Christmas music and fun dances and not much crazy music. I gave the DJ a list of what music he could NOT play and requested that he keep the music down so people could talk. I had around 85 people there and it was low-keyed and fun.

For our honeymoon, we went to Colonial Williamsburg. I am a history buff and thought that Williamsburg at Christmas would be so exciting. It was! We had a condo for the week (only a $1000). It had a full kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom and a huge jazecuzee (sorry..have no idea how to spell that!). It was an amazing time. I was lucky to find DH.

I remember thinking through the wedding that "children were next" and would never have believe that it would take eight years for that dream. I was only pregnant once. I was only "late" once and didn't take a test. I wish that I did (it was early in my marriage) but never thought of it. I think I was just "late".

So...here I am at 40 trying for a second baby that I should have been trying for at 32 (assuming I had the first baby at 30).

My brother who is 30 and newly married (2 yrs), tried for a baby and boom! pregnant. So frustrating..yes I am happy for him and wouldn't want anyone to struggle, but it makes me feel the old feelings again...you know, the "not fair" feelings. I have no right to feel that way with having him, but TTC is still frustrating even with a child. I do believe it is worse when you are trying for #1.

I had some snacks at dinner (two spoonfuls of ice cream) and even had one drink, might as well with bd beginning, but I am still eating less the last two days.

So...any more wedding stories out there!

Any pets Jesse?

Hey Christie,

Aww, what a sweet story :) Your wedding sounded magical with the whole Xmas theme! Beautiful pictures too! And I see you were nice to your bridesmaids and got them pretty dresses rather than those nightmares you see..LOL!

Hey, we just went to Colonial Williamsburg last fall! We had a lot of fun..we weren't in a condo though, just a B&B. My DH is a history buff too. Always making me watch the History channel! ha! He was born and raised in Italy until he was 6 or 7 but has been in NY since then.

I can't believe that we used protection until last year so as to prevent getting pregnant. What a joke! I swear, I grew up thinking the minute I was with a guy I would be pregnant! If I only knew! It's probably better for my parent's peace of mind that I didn't...LOL!

I was married when I was 30 too, I figured I'd start trying for kids at 35...that's when I didn't know about all this fertility crap! And then with my sisters being Fertile Myrtles...well I thought I had it in the bag! Oh well, let's hope we get blessed soon and in the meantime we'll just lose weight so we can have healthy pregnancies :)

Yeah, we need more wedding stories and pics :)

Oh and no pets. DH is allergic to cats so my roommate got full custody of the cats when I got married. I must admit, I don't miss their hair but I miss them. They were weird but loveable cats. One cat would play fetch and the other cat would drink water sitting up and cup his paw into the bowl and bring the water to his mouth. Very odd, but hysterical. And then they would take turns in the middle of night going into each of our rooms and spooning us while we slept. They were funny.

I would love a dog, but I think I don't want to deal with a jealous dog when I finally have a baby so I am thinking about getting a puppy so they can sort of grow up together. Although, breaking in a puppy and having a 1st baby should be fun too! ha ha ha

Boy, aren't we chatty today! DH is doing his Wii and one of my nephews is sleeping over and in the shower so I figured I'd check out how everyone was doing. Oh and I have to post what I ate...yikes I almost forgot.

Tuesday, August 12th:

Breakfast: French toast and 2 slices bacon (bad bad bad, I know)

Snack: iced coffee (1/2 cup coffee), fat-free half-n-half, 1 tsp sugar and a natural granola bar

Lunch: actually had a grilled 2% milk american cheese sandwich, whole wheat bread and light butter

Dinner: making the pork chops tomorrow night...DH took me out to dinner instead. I had a grilled chicken over lettuce with mushrooms and sundried tomatoes in balsamic vinegar. I actually didn't eat the yummy bread! And I drank a seltzer with lemon.

Dessert: Planning on fruit - yep had grapes

Exercise: I did 45 minutes on the Wii.

By the way, when do we have to start a new thread? Do you know how many pages?

I asked Elle when to start a new page but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. I thought we could try to go to 20 pages like in a buddy group and then start again.

Should we keep the same name or change it?

Tuesday, August 12th:

I didn't weigh in today. I stayed home from work sick (although we're in the middle of a huge trial prep). I think something is going around. I felt awful. I kept sneezing, had a slight fever, sore throat and headache. BOO! All I ate all day was two bowls of chicken noodle soup. I didn't exercise any either. It sucks being sick (and at work...since I'm back in the office today - Wednesday).

Wednesday, August 13th:

Still not feeling that great but I'm at work anyway.

Breakfast: apple halves w/peanut butter and water.

Lunch: hot herbal tea for my sore throat and yet another bowl of chicken noodle soup. I love chicken noodle soup (I love soups period, sick or not).

Dinner: More soup (lentil - 2 bowls) and a bite or two of baked sweet potato topped with a bit of butter and cinnamon, Ginger Ale

Desserts: none (although I really wanted a milkshake to make my throat feel better but I don't think you're supposed to have dairy while sick, right?)

Snacks: None

Exercise: Yeah, right.

Bailey, thanks :) I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you feel better real soon. Maybe it's just the stress from the trial? I was always sick when i was working and doing overtime, working until 3am, going in at 6am. It's really hard on the body. Your eating well though!

Sounds like a plan Christie, hmmm what do you all suggest? I'm fine with the same name but then again I'm not very creative. LOL!

Wednesday, August 13th:

Breakfast: Frosted Mini-Wheats (24 biscuits) with fresh strawberries

Snack: iced coffee (1/2 cup coffee), fat-free half-n-half, 1 tsp sugar and a natural granola bar

Lunch: Lean Cuisine Philly Steak Panini, water

Dinner: Making pork chops, rice and a veggie, either corn, broccoli or spinach

Dessert: Planning on fruit

Exercise: Hmm, don't know if I'm exercising today...my right knee hurts :(

Hope you all are well :jump:

I was just on Health.com and found an interesting article on a Farmers Market Diet diet, don't know if I could really stick to it because I am lazy but it sounds good. In case anyone is interested:

Jesse, you're completely right. It could be the trial prep...we all KNOW it's going to settle out of court at the last minute but we still have to work hellish hours and prepare as if it's going to happen (because it very well may).

I LOVE the Farmers' Markets...I'll check out the diet in a moment. Thanks for sharing.

Today I was out at a friends house. She is a teacher that I taught with. Nason had a blast running round her big house. I am so tired now. My eating isn't too bad but a little nervous about tomorrow...so snacking a little bit. No exercise either but must bd tonight (does that count  )

So...I called the court and Nason and I have jury duty tomorrow. I will NOT leave there without being disqualified or given credit or something. Should be fun. Bailey: They can't put me in jail over this right? :D

I will check in later!

Bailey and Jay: What do you think? Should we get a new name or keep this one?
