I like your title, Losing Weight and Gaining BFP's! What do you all think?

Anyone want to start us off and then leave a link here?

Great idea Jesse!

You can start the group Christie. Maybe we can put our goals and weight loss tickers on the main page so we can see our progress in one shot.

What do you all think?

Hey ladies!

Really? Ok, so we have our buddy group name. How about tomorrow morning I can start the new group and I'll post the link to it in this forum?? That way, I start it with what I had for breakfast, etc. What do you all think? Aww, I'm happy you all like the name. Wait, Bailey, do you like it?

Christie, I hope that happens to me too!!! I think they say it's good at also de-stressing and relaxation. It's supposed to be good for pain too...have you considered it for your hip pain?

Denise, I found it through Aetna.com which is the insurance I get thru DH. But since it's a Natural Therapy it's not covered like going to my RE or OB/GYN, etc. I get a discount in the price, that's all. But I can't complain, at least I get the discount! I'll let you all know how it goes. I'm nervous. I'm also annoyed because it's supposed to be all hot tomorrow so I just know I'll be sweating when I get there. Poor acupuncturist. Hee.

I have Cigna. (My husband has Tricare but they don't pay for acupuncture) I just looked it up online and there are a few that takes my ins at a discounted rate. Just like you. I can use it for my headaches, my joint pain (from the lupus), weight loss, relaxation and maybe fertility. I'll make some calls tomorrow to find out more information.

I just don't want to drink any concoctions they come up with.

Jesse! You can start the group! I keep an eye on our other buddy group. BFP or Bust....so it would help out if you helped keep this one up and going.

How does that sound Jesse? Are you up to the challenge?

Ok, ok, I'll do it :) So tomorrow morning I will post the first post and also list where we are at our weights (is that ok?). I just need everyone's weight to put it in. I totally forgot to weigh myself this morning, so I will do it tomorrow morning (I'm scared).

So should I put our current weight and our goal weight? Just wondering. If so, then I'll need both from everyone :)

And I will of course also come back here and paste the link here.

Denise, a friend of mine has lupus and she would have these bouts of pain that I couldn't believe. We went away on vacation together and she lived in the jacuzzi because she said it helped her. I hope acupuncture will help you :)

Jesse - Awesome!!! I hope it helps me too.

Current weight is 184.5 lbs. (I'm 5'9" by the way)
Goal weight is 160 lbs. (This was my weight when I got married which in my opinion was perfect for me. Not fat, not skinny, just right!!!)

I'm about to shower and head to bed. I'll look for the new buddy group in the morning.

Christie, I like your 9/11 Rememberance ticker. My company gives us 9/11 off every year - they call it Patriots' Day in rememberance of those who lost their lives on that awful day. Many people see it as a "last" holiday off from work after Labor Day but we're SUPPOSED to do something patriotic and something in rememberance of that day.

Thanks Bailey:

I am a New Yorker by birth. My brother is a New York City Fireman. He was not on the force then, but was a volunteer on Long Island. When he heard about the first plane, he and his department raced to the city. He spent hours there digging for his lost friends (Johnny, Peter and Billy...they never found Johnny) with is bare hands. I went to high school with one of the firemen who died. Trust me, in 1985, I would never have thought that some angry, hateful people would cause such pain. I have been to the memorial for Johnny at the firehouse. They never found him. At the firehouse, they have his uniform in a glass case with a note scribed into a wall at the trade center that they found in the rubble. His note had his name, engine number and a message that he loved his wife and kids. It breaks your heart to stand and see that.

I promised my brother that I would never forget and every year in school I did something for 9/11. Now that I am working, I just want it as a blinkie.

DH worked on Pearl St. which runs next to the Trade Towers. Every day he used the subway that ran under the Trade Towers. If we didn't move to MA the year before, my DH would have been working that day. Those hours that I wouldn't have known where he was would have haunted me and God spared me.

When I go home to Long Island, 9/11 is still felt strongly. They named a major road near my house Johnny Nap. Memorial Highway in honor of my brother's friend. There is a huge sign there to remind you what happened. I lived there my whole life and never once imagined what "hate" could do.

When they told us in the schools what happened, we had to protect the children. It was the longest/hardest day of my life. The principal told them at lunch and they cried and were scared. They were afraid that they would die too. On the way home, the silence from the lack of planes flying, remember they closed all the airports in America, was deafening. We had the military choppers flying over our house on the way to the army base in MA and it was certainly something I will never forget.

When my brother was sworn in as a fireman, there was a 9/11 tribute that brought tears to your eyes.

As you can see, I am quite passionate about this.
