Just curious.

So about a week ago I had put in a request to have a copy of my GYN's notes sent to me. I just got them today. And after reading them I started to think that it was a bad idea even getting them!

So for those who don't know my situation,

I was diagnosed with HPV in April of 2008.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in May of 2008.
Was told that if I were to TTC it would be extremely difficult.

A few months later DH & I decided that we wanted to TTC #1. Because of the PCOS I barely AF or O. So that again is making it VERY difficult. Almost impossible.

GYN prescribed me Provera, in August of 2009. Withdrew Provera in early 2010 because I did not have AF.

GYN Prescribed Metformin in early October 2010. Noticed I still wasn't having AF, called to inform him earlier this month. Nurse said she would let him know. Got a call back a few days later saying that I need to give the Metformin enough time to work. From everything that I have heard I have to be on Metformin for atleast a year for me to see the correct progress. Then proceeded to tell me that I can take Metformin for the next 6 months and if I dont get my BFP by then he is going to send me to a specialist.

Not for nothing, but I cant afford a specialist. I have state insurance, thankfully making my meds extremely affordable. I have started to read other peoples stories on here. Noticing that the ones on the correct meds, have OB/GYN's instead of just a GYN.

They are not near where I am, so I am not sure if I were to get an OB/GYN and get on the right meds.

I dont want to have to go back on BC to get AF and then have to wait that period of time for the BC to get out of my system to start TTC again.

I guess I am just looking for some insight? or whatever I am trying to say. Its been two years, I have read stories on here that break my heart on how long they have tried. Having angels out there and ectopic preg.

Please help?? I have no ideas on what to do. Other than bounce back and forth from GYN to OB/GYN....

You know, after I had my m/c in 2008, I saw another dr. I didn't have a period since the m/c. She put me on one month of bc pills and I got my bfp after that!

I would say try to find an ob/gyn, I have only ever had them as drs and LOVE them.

in the same boat! HPV, PCOS, & cant afford a RE. I am taking metformin though 1000mg a day. It helped alot with my periods. It took about 2 months for me to see any difference though. So hang in there! Me and DH have been TTC for almost 2 years and still no BFP yet. So I am on my 3rd cycle using Soy Iso and Metformin. Maybe look into trying soy. I love it!! Good luck!

I take Metformin 4 pills a day. I think thats double what your taking. I dont know why I am on that much of a dosage but I havent had a period since I started taking it in October.

What is the Soy Iso?

Soy Isoflavones. You can find them at walmart or any drug store in the vitamin section. Supposedly they are like the natural clomid. Ive taken them the past 2 cycles(on cycle 3 now) and i have ovulated right on time. which is a miracle considering my cycles are usually over 60 days long! I would definitley recommend looking in to getting some.
