Confused.

Postby Tish08 » Thu May 07, 2015 11:56 am

I'm new to TTC. My girlfriend and I are really wanting to start a family. We did our first insemination with KD sperm on 4/13. I was due to start my period on 4/30. On 4/25 I had light pink spotting that only lasted one time that I went to the bathroom. A few days later on 4/28 I had really bad cramps that had me hunched over in bed for about an hour. Here and there leading up to 4/30 I had some brown spotting only when wiping. On 4/30 like clockwork by mid morning I started bleeding. It was way lighter than my normal period and only filled maybe half of a pad by the evening time. I passed a few fairly large clots that day and bled lightly still the next day. By 5/2 there was no more bleeding at all. I had moderate AF cramps but I've never had a period that lasted all but maybe 2 full days. Mine are always 5 days long. I've taken a couple pregnancy tests but they have all came up negative. I'm just really confused. As of today I'm at 21 dpo unless that is a real period. Anyone had anything similar happen? I've got my donor lined up to do another cycle if needed. Just curious and confused.

sometimes the stress of TTC can make your normal cycle go crazy. It sounds like you just had a lighter than normal period. However, if you think you could be pregnant and want to make certain if you are/are not, you can get a blood test done. It is much more sensitive than POAS. Otherwise, start peeing on those OPKs soon to find out when you may O next! GL!

I appreciate your reply. :) I just bought a new supply of OPKs so I'm thinking I'll just start there for the time being.

That is a good plan Tish - it also doesn't hurt trying your hand at charting BBT. The OPKs predict O, but the BBT can confirm that it happened... it could help you see if you are timing it right with the donor.

I've thought about bbt but my schedule and sleeping pattern are so out of whack that I feel I wouldn't get accurate results. I check cm and cp as well as what my body tells me. Luckily my cycle is always like clockwork, so that helps a great deal.
