ttc at 23...

Postby katiejay » Thu Oct 29, 2015 1:23 am

Have officially been off BCP for 4 months, still nothing.... is it completely normal for me to freak out over this? Because I am. I have never spent so much time googling and freaking myself out. I went off the pill just as a whatever happens happens outlook. After so much time trying to prevent pregnancy, I never realized how hard this process can actually be. So anyways, went off the pill, after 2 months of nothing I started tracking cycles and ovulation. Still nada, but I know I am just being impatient and a worry wart of the worst. I thought psh, im young and healthy, hubby is young and healthy, we can look at each other and be pregnant! NOT. Anyone else have success stories or can give me some insight to calm these crazy nerves?!

I'm 22. I was not on any birth control, and this is month three of trying for me. Stop worrying! You're probably fine :) It's normal for the birth control pill to make your cycles weird for a little while after you stop it... I'd recommend doing temping. It shows you when you ovulate, and it's super cheap (free fertilityfriend account and a ten dollar thermometer!)

That's what I have read too. I didn't temp or anything this month but if AF shows I plan on it. I didn't realize how jumbled and hard my post is to understand, so please forgive me. I work overnights and any stimulation on my brain after 3am is never good lol.

Hi Katie! I'm 25 and have been trying for 10 months and had a chemical in June. I hear you on the googling things and freaking out! We started out the same way going off the pill and thinking if it happens it does and if not then that's ok but after a few months i started thinking omg what is wrong with me?!? Lol I'm getting an ultrasound done on Friday to see if they find anything and kinda nervous about the outcome! Good luck this month!!

Josie good luck to you! I hope your results turn out well. Isn't it crazy, you spend so much time stressing about your pill and taking it on time only to get off of it and to not get pregnant right away!? Fingers crossed for you!

Hey there, I'm also ttc at 23, and after a few months of trying and feeling alone and crazy, I picked up a book that has actually helped me feel a lot better. It's called The Conception Chronicles by Patty Doyle Debano, Courtney Edgerton Menzel, and Shelly Dicken Sutphen. It's got a lot of info in it for women ttc, but also has a lot to help you laugh and feel less nuts, and a lot better. I highly recommend it.
