I'm planning to a SAHM. Even if my DH didn't make that much, I'd rather be poor and never eat out and not going on trips or anything than miss those precious years with my kids! After all, why are we TTC so badly? So we can give birth, then give them to someone else and only see them an hour a day? No way! I might as well just be an aunt! I think raising your own children is definitely worth the cuts. Turn off the cable, cancel the Netflix and gym memberships, start a veggie garden, whatever you need to do to make ends meet.

I've actually been a SAHW for the past few years because after I graduated every month I keep thinking "Well, I'm going to be pregnant soon so I don't want to start anything...". But after 2 years now I realize it might be awhile, so I'm going back to work now, but I'm planning to quit once I get into the 2nd trimester.

I couldn't have said it better myself!! My thoughts and feelings exactly :D

No other choice

I stayed home the entire first year of my oldest son's life, but in order of us to live on our own (we lived with my grandFIL), I had to work. Cutting off the cable, internet, etc just wouldn't work for us. We need reliable cars, food, clothing, a ROOF, and none of that would be possible if I stayed home since we make equal pay.

Luckily, my DH usually has his weekends fall during the week, so our boys only need childcare 3 days a week and we refuse to put them in daycare. We have another SAHM watch them for extra cash. So I still bring in a little more than half my income.

Its hard. Last night I had a dr appointment after work so I never even saw my youngest but I make the best of the weekends. :)

I bring home 2/3 of our income, so staying at home is absolutely not an option for me. On the contrary, my husband may have the option of being a SAHD. My mom operates a daycare out of her home so she may even get to spend all day with my kids, and not us (but free daycare with someone you trust is still free daycare!). So, so jealous.

I would love be a SAHM...however my husband is on disabilty due to injuries in iraq and his disabilty is not enough to cover all our expenses...however he is able to care for our child while i work and i work two 16 hr shifts and one 8 hr shift a week with my 16 hr shifts working thru the night...this gives me lots of time at home to enjoy our child and still provides enough income to support our family....

I am a stay at home mom . I am looking for some work from home though just to prepare for having another baby. It is a lot cheaper to stay at home that to actually go get a job due to childcare etc.
