Babatte - I hope your mom is doing better now. I admire your strength in dealing with everything you have going on and keeping your sanity. I am assuming that is a picture of you on your blog. You are absolutely beautiful!!

Hang - Congrats hang on your FSH!! Your an inspiration to me since I had the FSH of 16 last time. My follicle count was alway good for my age but I remember after all the meds I had taken there was a lot more follicles than when I started. Its like the meds stirred up the egg pot or something. He even commented on my last US that it almost looked like PCOS. That was wild. I fear when I go get my CD3 my FSH will be much worse but you give me hope.

zohbeee - Hows pregnancy going? Are you over on the Perky Pickle now?

YiYi - Good to see you on again and doing well.

Kim - I check your blog out regularly. I could never be as disciplined as you are on the diet etc. I could not even seem to cut caffeine out of my diet.

Hope all is well with everyone else.

AFM - Step-son left a few days ago. Thank God! He makes me crazy and makes me feel like life is out of control. He also makes me feel like something bad is going to happen. Something bad always seems to happen when he is here. This trip I found out my Aunt has cervical cancer. I hope that is all the bad news I get because DH is going in for MRI as he is having major back issues and says he is tired all the time. Scares me. I decided to tell the therapist about the incident I was telling you about. I don't care if she does think I am too hard on him. This women has never lived with him. I am still waiting to find out what she is going to say about it.

Good morning ladies!

Kierann-Is stepson gone for good or will he be coming back soon? I didn't know what to say after your last post. He scares me. Sorry about your aunt's diagnosis. I hope the docs find a good plan of action to treat it. Keep thinking positive, your DH is going to be okay. Thanks for the comment on my pic. DH didn't want me to put any pics up. He let me use that one because I rarely if ever wear that much eye makeup and it was taken before we got married.

Zohbee-How's your little lady? Any names yet?

YiYi- How's Miss Sophia?

Kim- thanks for posting a sample menu. I was dying to know what you could actually eat on your diet.

Kez- I noticed that the REs abroad use the nasal meds for suppression. I guess it hasn't been approved here in the states yet.

Hang- excellent fsh number!!! I hope things will line up for you at work. Sounds like you have a good game plan. Try not let the stress of that bother you during your cycle. What day of stims are you on?

Motox- I don't have a facebook but i did register at the 'pickle'. I think we will be okay here for a little while.

Eliza- What's up Mama?

AFM- Started my Shoyer protocol a couple of days ago. Last BC pill on Wednesday. It's a bit different. I used estrogen patches every other day 4 times and ganirelix for 4 days. Once I get AF I start the stims. Hope this gives me a good crop of eggs. I just figured something out that is really disturbing me. I took my HCG trigger wrong for all my past cycles. I took them with the wrong needle and I took them subQ rather than IM. The nurses at the old RE never explained that to me. That may have been the reason I had so many follies but few mature eggs retrieved. I feel so stupid right now. The nurses at the new RE state that the proper way is IM for IVF. Ugh!

Update on my friend who had the suicide attempt last week. He was the guy that we were helping out while he and my GF were having marital problems. The guy that wanted to sit an talk all night. He was fooling around with the wife of a fellow he served with in Afghanistan. She lived in upstate NY and had been coming to Chicago to help him and my GF with the sell of their townhome. None of us saw this coming because he was being "treated" for impotency brought on by PTSD. Please excuse me for not being very sympathetic but no one goes to work after they have overdosed and then attempt to slit his wrist (the wrong way). Convenient when his workplace is across the street from the Veterans Hospital. He did it once the other woman called my GF and the other woman's husband decided to hop a train to Chicago. Not sure if it was a cry for help or a "ohshit get me out of here reaction". DH and I feel like idiots for falling for his story and giving him all those free nights at the Marriott for him to cool off. We really sympathized with the guy. I drove him to his appts at a VA and DH lent him a lot of money. I do realize that war effects people differently but we hate that he dragged us into his deception. He and DH were close and now DH refuses to talk to him or let him near our house. His wife, my GF, is taking care of him and standing by him until he gets through this. I told her to do what her heart tells her, not what other people expect her to do. She's usually a hothead but she's really handling this a coolhead.
All I can say is I hope he gets the help he needs.

Babatte - I was just looking into the hcg trigger in IVF protocol and read over and over it was the most critical part of the medication protocol. Thats huge deal you were not told to give IM. Difference in absorption and absorption rate. Wow!!! I am really tripping over this!! On the one hand it pisses me off you went through all that not being told the right way to do the most critical part. Yet on the other hand hopeful this correction could really make a difference.

Babette ugh on your friends betrayal..sucks big time. I don't blame you for not being sympathetic.
I was told to do my trigger subQ..the needle isn't long enough to do IM..maybe different meds are injected in different places?? Im going to have to look it up!!

Keirann, so glad stepson is out of your hair..will be he back or is it permanent? when will DH have the MRI?? I hope its nothing much and easy to fix!! sorry about your aunt, hope they caught it early!

Hang, how are you doing with your cycle?

Hi everyone else, hope youre all good.

afm, started sniffing synarel..its fine so far, no side effects, though for about an hour after each sniff i can feel a prickling in my ovary area, no idea what that is..I have a theory that its to do with me being on day 40 something and theyre a bit upset about being disrupted! I have my last pill on tuesday, so i should get AF a few days after that!

Babette yes I think I wouldn't be that happy about being taken advantage of by a "friend" esp when you were dealing with your own problems. I didn't really understand the trigger story. I have always taken it in my belly is that where you did too??

kez this sniffing? Is it similar to Lupron?? Day 40??

Ladies I am on CD 8. So far it has been one problem after another. I have 8 (antrical) follicles on both sides but only 2 on each side are measurable (0.9, 0.8,0.8,0.9). I don't know if this is good yet or not. So they decided for me to add Repronex. My clinic didn't get the call to my pharmacy in time so I had to drive 40 minutes and then 20 more minutes to work to get these meds. Then the nurse apparently gets stuck in traffic and would then be 1.5 hours late which of course I couldn't wait for (I had an interview that morning at work). So the nurse gives me my directions on the phone. Repronex is evil - I have 2 big welts on my tummy. So I drive there again tody for an appt and needed to by Gonal F. The nurse rings it through and then forgets to give it to me!! Agghh now tomorrow I have to take another 40 minute drive - this has been 6 - 5am starts in a row and next week I have another 6 more.

UGH Hang on all the driving and delays..I wouldn't worry too much about only 4 measureable follies at cd 8, its still early days. I guess stresses like that are why my clinic only does one ultrasound (I guess they don't realise no U/s's also stress us out..lol)

Ive never used lupron, so Im not 100% sure if its the same..what im using supresses hormones and puts you into menopause..its also a treatment for endo if that helps (that reminds me Im almost half an hour late to take my dose!! thanks)

Hang- I was just confused because my new RE stated that I should have trigger IM for my IVF cycles, with a long needle like the one for progesterone. I used a short needle and shot myself in the same place I took my stims. Don't know if it mattered or not. It's only cycle day 8 right, how many days for stims so far? I noticed that I stimmed slower on lupron and the Re had to up my dosage once also. OOh that sucks about the run around for the meds. Get yourself a cool cd to listen to for the drive so you don't get too frazzled. I hope the interview went well!

Kez- I forgot how long you've been on the BC! I'm waiting for AF myself. Now she's taking her own sweet time getting here. I'm ready to get going!

Babette I find all of these needles so confusing. I am up to 3 a day and the Repron is killing me. Today is CD 10 I think and 7 days of stims (I think). Today I had 6 follicles all about the same size. The left one really won't co-operate and they have a hard to getting at it for some reason. Tomorrow's appt got cancelled thank God. They are predicting this weekend which would be good as I don't have to miss a day of work. The interview went well but I think there is a little more politics going on so who knows@@ So where are you on your cycle?? So if you aren't doing Lupron what are you using to suppress your ovulation?? Was is cetrotide??

Hang-I've got a really different cycle this time. It's similar to an antagonist cycle. I've been on estrogen patches since my last birthcontrol pill and I had to do 3 days of ganirelix. That's my supression. I just got AF today, so I may start stimming really soon. Once I start growing follies I take the ganirelix again to suppress and keep me from ovulating.
Are you taking the repronex as 3 separate shots or did they show you how to mix them and take with one needle?

Hi Ladies. I wasn't paying attention and posted on the old thread yesterday. Looks like a lot is going on right now for you IVFers. Most of the talk if foreign to me, but I did take the trigger IM. That was they way I was always told. Just above my butt in the outer quadrant was supposed to be best.

Looks like things are going great for you ladies. It is so great to see y'all so excited. Wow, we may have 3 more pregnant ladies on here next month!

AFM: Things are going pretty good except for the anxiety. I am going to another acupuncture session this afternoon. The one I had last week really help for about 4 days.

Otherwise this pregnancy is going better then my first (except the first trimester). I am sleeping well at night and no hip pain like last time. I manage to stay active with my son. However I am starting to feel super tired again. I just have to fight it.

Please keep posting your IVF journeys. I find it so exciting!!!!

Hello Ladies!

Motox - As always, thanks for staying on top of the "techie" stuff. Way above my head. I do not have a Facebook account.. Hope your baby girl is good!

Kierann - I find the stepson story very creepy as well. I'm with YiYi - never let that kid alone with your baby. You really need to trust your gut in these situations.

Hanging - Great FSH! I hope the Repronex gives you the boost you need, but I think it is too early to worry. Sorry about all your driving around. Exhausting.

Kez - I'm wishing you the best this cycle! Keep the updates coming.

Babatte - I've tried to stay up to date on your blog, but might be a bit behind. I hope your mom's doing better. So sorry about the fiasco with your friend. You and dh are such good people, it must sting to watch what's unfolding right now.

YiYi - Hello! Your girl is growing up!

Zohbee - That's so amazing to hear of all your 40+ pals who've gotten pg on their own. I can't imagine! Sorry about your anxiety, that is so stressful. I really hope the accupuncture is helping things. I love the name you picked out and think you should stick with it -- so pretty!

AFM - Things have gotten busier at work, so I've had a harder time keeping up. My workday is shorter than usual, now that I have to be home to the nanny at a decent time, I'm struggling staying afloat with everything. Also, started to work out the past few weeks. I've known the only way I could work out is if I did it in the mornings before work. So, I bit the bullet and am going to a couple 6:15 AM classes a week. It's killer getting up so early, but I'm kind of enjoying my special "me" time. My muscles are pretty ticked off, though. Our girl is great. I can't believe she's almost one. And almost walking. She's a busy one.

Hello to anyone I've missed!

So ladies - I didn't get the job it was given to someone with 5 years less experience (a man)!! I am so pissed but I have to focus on my upcoming retrieval. I have decided not to stay at my present place of employment and pretty much blurted it out when I was told the news. He was shocked that I didn't want to stay (and train) my boss. What a loser!!

Anyways on a more positive note my transfer will either be Sun or Mon. I am a little disappointed as it has been a real slow cycle and I only have 8 follicles all about the same time. My RE was going to cancel my cycle if I was paying out of pocket for the meds. That statement was a little disappointing. I am trying not to overanalyze.

Off to do my Evil Repronex!

Just popping in using DH's laptop.
Hang- I'm sorry about the job situation. I think I might have said the same thing if I was told to train my new boss.
Don't over analyze what the Dr. said. Sometimes follies can be hiding. I didn't produce to many on lupron either. It was my lowest producing cycle but most of the eggs retrieved were mature and pretty good. All my mature eggs made it to transfer however I had that polyp in my uterus and that may have prevented implantation. I bet you've grown a good crop of eggs. Remember that its quality you want primarily. you are going to be fine. Are you retrieving this weekend?

Hang: Sorry about the job. That is truly sucky. I totally understand your reaction. What a jerk your boss is. As for the 8 eggs. To me that sounds great, but then again I never did IVF. I guess the number of eggs can't really tell you how good those eggs are. So don't feel bad yet. You may have a ton of mature eggs in there. That is all that matters. But obviously you know that.

Try to relax and pamper yourself during that TWW. Those two weeks are murder! Goodluck with the retrieval!

Ladies - the week from hell continues!!! This job thing is really driving me crazy and all of the extra hormones being pumped into my body isn't helping. My "new" boss keeps emailing me to talk me out of leaving work. I really have to not be too rash because of my anger.

So the longest cycle on record continues.... Today I had 11 follicles - 3 just came from no where and they were at 1.5 - where were they hiding?? So I have a couple at 2.0, 2.1 and 1.8 but the rest are about 1.6. I am waiting for the phone call about whether I am triggering tonight or not. I am a little nervous that some are getting too big but I want the smaller ones time to catch up. Any insights will help???
