offfically TTC again at 35

Postby teachingmom » Tue Apr 19, 2011 7:08 am

Hey ladies,
I've been a stalker for over a year now and I've made a few posts but mostly I just read and try to absorb. I joined sometime last year when I was planning for number 3 BUT I ended up having to have a leap procedure done last June.
I'm 35 and dh is 30 I have a DS who is 16 and a DS who is 10 from a previous relationship. This will be dh's first.
We are officially back in ttc mode. Af should be rearing her ugly head today or tomorrow. I'm not sure what all I’m planning to do as far as vitamins and stuff. I know I will continue to take folic acid and have been for over a year. I will start prenatal vitamins as soon as I run out of my current vitamins which is like a few days but as for everything else I'm not sure. I was thinking of maca or cassavo root but I'm really not sure what they do and why I've just been reading that they are good for fertility. Currently I try to drink a hot green tea most nights b/c it calms me down and I read that is supposed to help with cm.
So any thoughts or ideas and reasons why would be very helpful.
Looking forward to really getting to know some of you through this journey. I love how informative and caring this site is.

Hi!
It sounds like you already have a great start! I recently started drinking more green tea as well. I definitely need to calm down. Sometimes I think my mind works against me.
I'm not sure how much my insights will help, as I've been ttc for 7 months (I'm 33), but I've sure heard a lot and keep trying new things.
Evening Primrose Oil is recommended for increasing CM. I've been trying this for a few months now. I've also tried the mucinex thing. This month, I'm not going to do either and see what happens.
A lot of people rave about pre-seed lubricant. I'm still thinking about trying it. (it's sperm friendly)
Just this week I'm introducing more organic foods into my diet. I've heard this can be really helpful, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I just stocked up on sunflower seeds and almonds.
I'm like you...I read and absorb a lot on here. I used to read a lot in general on the web, but I like it here the best!

Hi there, I'm 35 too and have both a two and three year old. With my first we were ttc for 4 months and the month I conceived the only thing I did different was use the preseed lub so yes I definitely think it's worth trying. With my son I had sex ONE time when my daughter was 3 months old and ended up pregnant with my son. We weren't ttc but we weren't too careful either. Now it's like having twins, I really do need to update my siggy. Waiting for a lady to make one for me. Well I hope you get that bfp very soon and got my fingers crossed for everyone here ttc.
*CURRENT STATUS*: Proud Mommy to two pumpkin babies. Samantha born Oct.18, 2007 and Johnny born Oct 8, 2008 & now expecting #3

Thanks ladies,
I used preseed a few years ago and got pg first month using it. But I miscarried at 11 weeks. I am ordering some opk's and preseed today I've never used opk before but I'm concerned I might now be ovulating. I have a bbt thermometer but I'm not very good at being constant so I've decided to not temp at the this time. If in a few months I'm not pg I might start again.
On another note is anyone concerned about being high risk. My nurse told me at my last gyn check up I'd be high risk for three reasons the first being my age, my blood pressure and having had a leap. This scares me some so I've been doing lots of reading on high risk pregnancy and what it means and the testing options. It's kinda scary.

TTC first, DB 42, I'm 35. Fibroids are causing me to speed up the clock. Hope we are successful this month. We've been trying since February. BFNs really put a damper on the day. AF due no later than next Thursday. Really hoping not to see her any time soon.
