Luna~ I would love to hear about your diet and the cookies. I personally hate south beach it's so hard for me. I think I miss my fruit the most. I am the heaviest I've ever been. I drink lots of water so soda isn't a big issue I drink one cup/mug of coffee in the morning sweetened with splenda and low fat sugar free creamer. This morning I had scrambled egg whites with ham, cheese, mushrooms and tomatoes. Most of the time we eat well. Last night I made blackened fish, zipper peas frozen from last years garden and Brussel sprouts.
But in December my father in law had 2 brain surgeries in 38 hours and it was a long 3 months in the hospital and rehab. I put on about 15 lbs in 3 months between working and hospital visits I was never home it was lots of eating out or from a vending machine. He's much better he's currently living in an assisted living place. He is now legally blind and can't drive and his short term memory is awful. And he will be undergoing heart valve replacement surgery sometime in the next month. That is what caused the brain bleed in the first place. So with all of this I've went up 2 pants sizes since August. I've never done this in my life.

OK now on to TTC-- 8-9DPO is pretty early so there is still a chance. Tonight after work my teaching team and I are going out to eat they will be drinking but I won't b/c I don’t' know if we caught the eggie and I don't want to chance it. I seriously thought about POAS but really I'm 2DPO what am I thinking. I just want to know already I wish there was a day after test. :D
TMI warning but super funny last night my hubby came to me and said do I need to make another deposit or can we just have fun  I said I thought it was all fun :? to which he replied well I have to think blue when I'm make a deposit and I have to tell them to swim fast.  he cracks me up!!! I love that man!!

Teachingmom-I'm sorry to hear about all you went through with you FIL-that sounds rough! We had a rough couple of months recently as DH's grandpa was dying and we live closest to them so we were with them all the time. Driving grandma to and from the hospital to visit grandpa over a period of a couple of months as he was in and out, driving both of them for doctor's appointments and all the other errands, and then finally spending as much time as we could with him in hospice. No time to cook, shop, etc. And also just from the stress and sorrow we turned to food for comfort. He passed away in February and we miss him very much. Just had a dream about him last night as a matter of fact (it was good dream). What I eat is healthy (lots of veggies, fruit, love fish, don't eat meat at all). My weakness is cheese and carbs but my biggest problem is portion size!
My co-workers are also going out for drinks for Cinco de Mayo but I think I'm just going to go home instead. I don't really feel like drinking!
Also, your hubby sounds sweet! :D Aand I'm 4-5 DPO, don't have much of a chance this cycle, but am already obsessing and wanting to pee on something too!!!

Teach and Morrigan,

I have the first two weeks of the diet typed up in word and I can type in the rest over the weekend. When I get it all in, I can email it to ya'll. Like I said the first two weeks are kind of sparse, really the first week but if you can persevere through it, it really works. On average people lose 10lb the two weeks. I hope ya'll like cantaloupe though because it requires you to eat a lot of it the first two weeks. You eat plenty of other stuff too but you basically can eat a whole cantaloupe a day the first week, which I personally loved! Maybe we can all start the diet around the same time to offer encouragement. Also most all the mid morning and mid afternoon snacks are either apples, strawberries, or pears.

Teach, I too am sorry to hear about situation your FIL. Emotions probably play the biggest role on us gaining weight....of course some people are just the opposite and lose weight under stress but I never was!

Your DH is funny. Mine DP says the same thing to me about deposits!

Hi Luna,

I pm'd you my email addy. I don't want to post it here because recently my account was hacked and sent spam to everyone in my address book-so I want to be a little more cautious with it! I would love to try your diet and I will eat all the cantaloupe that is needed. :D It would be great to have buddies to do this with.

Luna~ that's awesome I love me some fruit!!! I pm'd you my email also.
That's great we can all start together that will help me stay accountable. What day do we want to start?

I'm 3 dpo today and I so want to test. I would love to have a BFP mother's day gift. I really don't think we caught the eggie we only Bd twice but once was the night of the positive opk so we'll see I'm not out yet. I think if we didn't I'll take EPO from day 1 to day 15 and BD daily from CD 12-16 or so. Anyone else changing anything for next cycle?

I'd start on Monday if it works for you guys!

I started taking B6 this cycle because I'm worried that I have a short LP and heard that B6 can help fix that. So I would continue that and I am seriously thinking about temping!

Hello Ladies!

Tomorrow I'll email ya'll the first two weeks of the diet that I already have typed up so if ya'll want to start on Monday then you can get groceries. I was at Wally World with a friend of mine this afternoon and noticed cantaloupes were on sale for $1 each! Woo hoo! I really despise Wal-Mart and don't go there unless absolutely necessary but I'm glad I ran errands with her today.

Tomorrow I am also going to post a long update.

You know I have trouble remembering to temp before waking up. I am seriously considering trying one of these. . . http://www.ovwatch.com/ I found them cheaper on Amazon. Haven't looked on Ebay. Any thoughts?

xo

Luna~ Got the diet and went gro shopping sorry I didn't check in over the weekend. We were out of town all day Saturday and yesterday for Mom's day I asked for my family to help me clean out my flower beds and put up our pool. I’m happy to say it's all done but I have a lot of blisters from all the raking.
Couple of questions on the diet. Do I have to eat all of the breakfast in one setting or can I snack on it all morning. It's just a lot of food to eat. That seems weird to say that on a diet. :? Also on the dinner meals can I marinate my chicken and grill it? The hubs started it also when he went through 4 pair of shorts yesterday to find a pair that fits he said I'm going to lose weight with you. And I started this morning. I tried to check in on my phone over the weekend and let everyone know. But I only had 1 bar and internet wasn’t an option. Sorry.

I haven't heard from Blison or seen her on any other threads I hope she's ok.

I'm on CD 21, 6 dpo and I haven’t tested yet. I'm kinda weird about testing early. I've been lurking on here for a long time and I've seen so many ladies start testing early then try to tweek it and begin to get their hopes up and the nasty witch shows. I'm trying to save myself that heartache but POAS is all I can think about. I want to so badly. I'm hoping to hold off till weekend. Af isn't due till Next Tuesday. How is everyone doing with POAS???

I also went shopping and started the diet this morning and DH also is joining me. :D I was also surprised at how big the breakfast was! But I looked up and saw that cantaloupes are really low in calories (I think a whole medium cantaloupe is 188 calories) so I guess the goal is to fill you up so you're not hungry? I'm really going to have to get organized about chopping them because it takes time to peel and chop 2 cantaloupes in the morning! I'm excited about starting this diet and I'm also walking almost every day for about 30-45 mins. I think I need to add some weight lifting to build some muscle as I am really out of shape!

I also haven't heard/seen bilson around!

I am on CD 25/8 DPO and I POAS this morning. :bfn: of course but I have the sticks and once I do it I'm slightly less obsessed for a couple of hours. I don't tweak (I did one cycle and decided from now on unless I can see something I'm not going to tweak). I don't know if AF is going to come when it's due (Thursday) or later because I'm not sure how long my LP is. If it comes on Thursday then LP is kinda short but it could also be that I O'd late this month and AF will come late also.

Luna~I looked at this ovwatch but it's a little pricey. Let me know if you decide to try it because I'd be curious to hear how it works. I'm going to try temping again next cycle and see if I can last more than 3 days!

Hello,

Hope you don't mind if I jump in and say hi. I notice this thread has some life on it lol.

I'm 35 y/o and we're ttc #3. Just starting out actually, this will be the first "real" month of ttc (we only bd'd one time around o last month) I'm going to try and avoid POAS til 13 dpo but if my past is any indicator, I'll be itching to poas by 7 dpo lol. I'm just hoping the stress I've been under lately doesn't hinder our efforts (I've heard stress can delay o) so I'm *trying* not to let the stuff going on bother me too much and focus on making a third and final baby.

I am a little worried because this past cycle was a weird one. I went 7 days past AF due date for no apparent reason (that's NEVER happened!) and to top it off I had all kinds of symptoms. Hoping that doesn't happen again, I'm fairly regular at 26-28 days. I spent my 20's with "unexplained infertility" and then all of a sudden in my early 30's had two babies back to back. I'm nervous a little about ttc because I'm reading too much crap on google about ttc after 35 and stuff but I know many women who have healthy kids who were conceived to women much older then me so I guess I have to keep positive and not google anymore lol. Hoping we all get our BFP's very soon!

Welcome moonshyne777! :welcome:

I've seen you on some of the other boards. :D That's great that you're TTC-ing #3-DH would like 3 if possible but we're taking it one at a time. We have one who will turn 17 this week. :omg: He was an oops baby so no trying for that one. We tried in 2008 and I got pg on the first try but then had a m/c at 8-9 weeks. We decided not to try anymore and now here we are after having changed our mind, trying again! :D
I believe this is our 3rd cycle TTC, before that we were also NTNP for a couple of months.
I'm also trying not to look at the scary things that can happen because I know people who've had babies after 35 and everything was fine! I totally know what you mean about wanting to pee on things! I can't wait to POAS tomorrow morning even though I'll be only 9 DPO! (And also I think we missed our eggie this month).

Welcome~ moonshyne :hi:

We are trying for our 3rd also. This was our first cycle trying and I'm trying to hold off to test until Thursday we'll see I really want to poas now. But I also don't want to be to early.

Morrigan I have two oops babies my 16 and 10 year old were both birth control babies and the same birth control. After my first son I refused to go back on it but after some female issues with cysts my doctor thought I should switch back to that brand and low and behold 3 months later I was pg. I had a mc back in 06 and that was my first offically trying pregnancy. I got pg on my 2nd cycle.

Where's Luna been today?? I haven't seen her. How's the diet going? I'm so full I feel like I've overeaten and I never had my carrots this morning. I think I'll take them to my sons ball game and have them there instead of sunflower seeds.

Wow teachingmom-sounds like we have pretty similar histories. :D

I felt super full after breakfast and very content after lunch but I forgot that I had to work late tonight and by 6:30pm I was famished and bought nuts to stave off hunger so I'm a little mad with myself over that.

Just came home and had the dinner and am pretty full now too! Except instead of chicken I had a veggie burger. I hope that's OK. (What do you say Luna?) I think I can stick with this with a little extra planning for breakfast (usually I have a yogurt and a piece of fruit-no prep time).

I'll be POAS tomorrow morning again even though I'm pretty sure it's hopeless! But I'm actually in a good mood anyway!

Hi Teaching Mom,

I am usually not very hungry in the mornings so I would eat the prunes, do the V8 and then eat the omelette. Then I would snack on the rest whenever I felt like it during the morning and sometimes even saved the fruit til the afternoon.

I'll send out weeks 3 and 4 tomorrow! It's really nice to hear that your husband wants to do it too! That's awesome. Good Luck!

Luna

P.S. GL on your testing!
