I am also TTC my first. I had a MC at 8 weeks in Aug 2010. I understand the depression but we have to try to stay as positive as possible. Easier said than done I know. I have been trying every natural thing under the sun. I O regularly and appear to have no issues with my repo system. For cycles June I am going with NTNP b/c the obsessing, depression, and stress from TTC has been too much for me the past few cycles. I went for a walk on the beach earlier today and was wishing I could meet someone my age also TTC #1 that I could relate too so I am glad you are here.

I am 38. I never got to join the ladies here properly before my :bfp: .

Story: TTC #1 since November 2010. I have never been pregnant or tried to become pregnant before.
* Started testing in Feb 2010. All hormone levels were well within normal levels. DH sperm count was excellent too.
* Very negative attitude from most of the doctors regarding my age :x even though nothing was wrong and kept telling me I was old and probably had bad eggs. Diagnosis unexplained infertility.
* Made an appointment for me to have my fallopian tubes tested which turned out to be a scheduled surgery! ARGH! I really thought they would check for blockages before subjecting me to surgery. Had to cancel because it coincided with AF arrival.
* Pushed to try an IUI with clomid, menupur and trigger. Had 2 large follicles about 19mm, 1 on each ovary. 3 days later IUI with 9.1 million perfect washed sperm. Had terrible trouble getting the catheter into my uterus.
* Was told during the procedure that they were pretty sure my tubes were blocked as there was a lot of pressure and said they recommended IVF from now on. Was given a 6% chance of success if everything was working. (stats again based on age)
* Fast forward just under 2 weeks later 13DPO. AF due the next day and started feeling nauseated and crampy. Felt sure she was coming at any moment.
*Started researching IVF drugs and procedures and cried.
*14DPO still cramping, feel depressed. Post here for some moral support. No AF yet but all the signs.
* 15DPO obligatory 2 week test after IUI and OMG a :bfp: !

So I beat the odds and how! The doctors were stunned and thrilled and have since altered my diagnosis to a rigid, tight cervix hence why IUI worked so well for me.

Anyway thought it would be good to share what worked for me. I am hoping the pregnancy progresses well. I am 6 weeks 4 days right now and everything seems to be going perfectly.
Wishing a :bfp: for all of you soon!

Seelie...you give me hope! We are trying naturally at the moment. If AF comes tomorrow, off to the RE (even though I've been told all is OK). Best wishes for an amazing pregnancy! :)

Hi hturner...

37 here too. TTC for 6+ months. Though I don't have an ovarian cyst, I too am going to my doc tomorrow. For me it's for a series of fertility tests PLUS getting the results of a pap re-test because the one last week came back "unusual", whatever the heck that means O_o. So yes..color me stressed out. Best wishes for a comforting appointment tomorrow....with solutions!!

37 Here Too!

Postby Snowtweet » Thu Jul 28, 2011 12:03 pm

Hello Ladies,

I'm 37 as well and this has been the MOST frustrating process with TTC. I was trying to get things going on the Clomid forum with ladies over 35 but I did not want to offend the 34 and under crowd. Let's face it, the clock is ticking and I am feeling the race. DH and I have been TTC for 10 months. We assumed nature would take it's course. But being older, nature is working against me. I look forward with corresponding with you all.
TTC #2 since Sep '10
Me: 38 DH: 45! (too old perhaps to even try?)
DD: born on 8/8/2006 au naturale <br />
