12 DPO BFN--Frustrated

Hi guys

This is my third month TTC, but my first post on this board. First, I want to say I'm so grateful for this website b/c it's really helped me feel connected to other people who are TTC. So thank you all for being part of this community.

This is my third month TTC and I really thought this was going to be it. My skin is broken out more than it's ever been, I've had crazy vivd dreams, my appetite has been all over the place, I'm exhausted, my gums are bleeding...I mean... EVERY SYMPTOM I've read about that I thought would lead to a BPF...

But today, at 12DPO... I get a BFN.

I'm crushed.

I'm 36 and I know it could take a while (I went off the pill after being on the pill for 15 years...), but this month I am heartbroken to see the BFN.

The two week wait is so emotionally draining. And the acne is just so....well, you know...a 36 year old with a broken out face...that's not the greatest feeling either....

I don't really have question, I just wanted to share b/c I don't feel like I can talk to anyone about this because no one else in my life is TTC their first child. I haven't told my family and friends b/c I don't want to have the added stress of them asking how it's going, etc.

We have a really healthy sex life, and I live an incredibly healthy lifestyle, and I guess I kind of just thought it would happen really easily. I'm sad that it's not.

AF still hasn't come yet - so you still could get that BFP! I was on BC for a long time too (17 years!) and figured it would either happen right away or it would take 2 years (it is now longer than that for me... but I don't think my DH took the timing thing seriously until the past year). At our age, you can be doing everything right - including timing BD with O - and it can take 6 months to a year. Generally, they say that in your 30s if it doesn't happen with 6 months of trying, you should go to DR to get checked out. Good luck!

Thanks for the talk! I'm 14dpo now, AF due tomorrow. Fingers are still crossed for a BFP, but I'm not taking another test until at least after tomorrow. I've honestly gained 7 pounds in the past three days. I've never been this bloated with AF before! And the acne is uncontrollable. Ugh. Yes, I'm staying positive. Here's hoping for no visit from the period fairy tomorrow. xoxo

It is my first post and I feel like I know you pain about being super disappointed about BFN. I am 12 DPO and just took a test and it was about as negative as you could get :( I still have a little bit of hope, but not much.

Also - I totally hear you about breakouts of the face. A 31 year old woman with breakouts - I HATE it! So, you are not alone on that one!

Best wishes to you!

Sorry you're frustrated with the BFN, and I hope that you got some great news since then. I'm also 36, so we have that in common! DH & I have been TTC for 18 months now, so unfortunately, I've had quite a few BFN's and/or unwanted visits from AF.

Best wishes to you for good news soon! :-)
