Newbie ttc baby #1

Postby joiedevivre » Thu Dec 03, 2015 1:46 pm

Hi everyone!

This is my first post, but I've been stalking this board for some time reading your stories and thought I'd finally register and introduce myself.

I'm 31 (as of yesterday) and hoping beyond hope that I will get my bfp this month. I was hoping to get the best birthday present ever (bfp on my birthday), but all I got was a bfn booo. I tested with a frer yesterday (8/9dpo) and this morning with a cheapie, also bfn. I'm trying not to lose hope at this point and remain positive. I've a slew of promising symptoms, but I'm not convinced it isn't just bad pms.

My husband and I have been married for 6 years and I was on bc for the first 3. We didn't actively try (no charting, opks, etc.) but did nothing to prevent and thought things would happen naturally. Not so. To be fair, we don't dtd as often as I'd like and never at the right time, obviously. Anyway, have recently started to feel the maternal desire strongly and we've been actively trying for the last 4 months. We've not been to any specialists, and as far as I know, everything works as it should. I'm very regular, and have ovulated when expected (using opks and monitoring cm.) Hubby has a son from a previous marriage, so there's no reason to suspect he has any fertility issues. He is considerably older than I am, though, and from what I understand, age can impact sperm quality and quantity. I figure we will continue actively trying on our own for another 6 months before we see a doctor.

Since we began actively trying, this is the first month I've been monitoring my symptoms on a daily basis and am experiencing new symptoms this time around. It could be I'm better versed in what to look for and it could also be wishful thinking, but... it could also be bfp, I hope!

Here are my symptoms:

11/9:LMP
11/19: opk-, bd.
11/20: opk-. bd x 2 ;)
11/21: opk+
11/22: opk+ vwcm
11/23: opk faint + bd (O day?), lots of egg white cm, bd
11/24: opk faint+ (O day?)
1dpo: opk very faint
2dpo: opk negative
3dpo: Very bad back pain spanning middle to lower back. Don't remember pulling any muscles, but this is my first thought. Not even looking for/thinking about pregnancy symptoms.
4dpo: continued back pain, creamy, white cm, VERY itchy nipples, sore throat
5dpo: back pain persists, breasts sore and itchy, highly emotional, creamy white cm, think I'm getting sick (flu like symptoms.) Having hot flashes on and off. Temperature 99.8, tired, strong desire to see my Mom. Idk if this is relevant lol but I really missed her all day.
6dpo: fever 99.5-99.8. Gassy, bloated, sore breasts, feel foggy (kind of like the mental fatigue I usually experience day before af)
7dpo: Light cramping on left side, sore boobs. Had a very strange muscle spasm in abdomen late that night. It was like the twitch you get in your eyelids, but on my stomach? Probably unrelated, but went on for about 10 minutes shortly after I got into bed. white, slightly clumpy (but smooth) cm
8dpo: Very irritable (annoyed with dh with very little provocation. Feeling premenstrual (emotionally), sore boobs.Creamy white cm. fever varies 99.7-100.1.
9dpo: woke up because of achiness. Feel like I've been hit by a truck. Back Pain, and vaginal soreness??? Feels like after having a rough session of bd. Maybe the beginnings of an infection? bfn :( feeling crampy, moody, and achey. CP remains high, medium soft. Usually, it drops low a week out from af. Usually VERY low as af nears (sometimes I feel like it is going to fall out) and is usually very hard. Trying not to lose hope due to af signs. CM appears white/lotiony in a negligible amount when I check cp. By end of evening, cm has become wetter and thinner. Underwear is damp (but colorless and odorless) 99.9 temp.
10dpo (today): bfn frer :( Damp/watery cm in underwear, but white/lotiony when checking cp, cervix remains high and soft, very sore breasts and nipples. Feels like af is imminent and similar to day/hours before af. That said, I am never, ever early and never have any spotting of any kind. When she comes, it's like a floodgate has been open lol. 99.9 temp.

Most noticeable Symptoms overview: nipples and breasts were so itchy I was beginning to wonder if I had some kind of infection. The itchiness has since abated, but my breasts have been consistently sore and sensitive. Sore bbs aren't unusual for me as a pms symptom, but I've never has tenderness this far ahead of af. Back Pain of any kind is unusual for me before af. I've been running a low grade fever since 5dpo until now ranging from 99.7-100.1. Today, I'm 99.9.

I'm going to hold off testing for as long as I can. I'm due af 12/7 or 12/8 so keep your fc for me she doesn't come!

Thanks for reading and gl to all!

Hi joie!

We are cycle buddies! I am on also on 9 days post Ov. My AF is due 9/12. We've been married for 5 years.

Got spotting yesterday and lightly today. If not + this month, we are going to have some fun for Christmas!

I also took a PT this morning and as white as they come. Will only take one a week after actual AF is due. Just realized I may be in this ttc game longer than I thought so better save money and supplies.

Good luck and I hope your birthday month is your month!

PS. do you take any supplements? I'm thinking about EPO.

Cycle buddies! I'm 9DPO today too! I broke down and started testing yesterday. This one is from today. It is tweaked, and blue due. I'm not trusting it.

Hi Ksi!

Nice to meet you, cycle buddy. Have a great weekend, and keep us posted. I've posted a few new forum posts if you girls wanna see if you can help me out.

Cheers

Hi Sue and ksi (cycle buddies!) I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you both and sprinkling baby dust your way.

ksi - that test looks promising!! I hope this month is your month! :D

Sue - I'm not familiar with EPO. I'm still pretty green with all the lingo. I've been taking maca root for a couple of years now, though not initially for ttc. A friend recommended it for regulating pms symptoms and regulating mood. I can't vouch for its efficacy in fertility, but I can say it does seem to help regulate pms related mood swings. That's the only supp I take, beside my regular vitamins. I have added extra folic acid to my regimen, just in case. :)

As aforementioned, I'm going to try to resist testing until af is due, but who am I kidding... I will probably break down and test tomorrow. Thank goodness for the cheapies, right?! I bought a pack of Waldos (50 opks and 20 hpts) from Amazon for $20. So far it has lasted me 4 months but I may need to buy more soon as this poas habit is intensifying lol Anyone else?

Anyway, I'm really glad to meet you both! Please link to your posts! :)

I am also ttc our first baby. This is all brand new to me, and I'm trying to learn the lingo. I feel like I'm reading greek sometimes with all the abbreviations. I wish there was a key, so I knew what I was reading! lol

I am 6-7 dpo. I used an opk this month, our first month actively trying. Since I've ovulated, I've felt like I have raging PMS. My boobs have gotten progressively sore, but my nipples have been incredibly tender since ovulation. Actually, maybe even before I got a positive on my opk.

On ovulation I had horrible cramping for about 12 hours and now have cramping throughout the day, everyday. I also have a general full and bloated feeling in my lower abdomen.

Like I said, I either have REALLY bad pms, really early this month. Or I'm preggo. I hope I'm preggo though!

Hi new2thismommyidea

I'm sure you can find a ttc dictionary with all the slang used. If not, just ask.

Your signs look good this month. FX!

I've got a question. I just got weighed at the gyno, and I'm heavier than I've ever been. Has anyone else noticed an immediate weight gain, probably from bloating, who had a bfp?
