Hello!

Postby IslandMom » Sat Jan 02, 2016 2:02 pm

Hi everyone!

DH and I are TTC, this is his first and my third and I'm looking for some supportive girlfriends who can relate to the TTC roller coaster. :)

My ex DH and I TTC for 27 months before conceiving our daughter(now 5) and when she was only 8 months old we were surprised with our son(almost 4) while NTNP. Both of my prior births were drug-free and underwater and very successful! New DH and I will plan home birthing if all is as healthy as the first two! BUT before I get too ahead of myself I have to get pregnant first. haha!

I have a sneaking suspicion that I will have a problem TTC again, but maybe it's complete paranoia. We are now on cycle #4. I chart and use a fertility monitor. My cycles are very textbook and I seemingly always have promising charts that are Triphasic whether I'm pregnant or not - so it's fairly frustrating to say the least!

Anyway - just wanted to say hi and put myself out there! :)

With such a nice looking chart and all of the right signs I'm sure it's frustrating having not conceived yet. It took me four years for my first then the next two came without trying, then the third I used opks and got pg first cycle. We are on month four of trying for the final #5. I am now 35 and that scares me a bit since that's the age of the dreaded fertility decline. I have been off bcp pills for four months and I think my body is just now regulating. My hair fell out terribly when I stopped the pill and this last month it just finally stopped. I'm hoping that's a good sign that maybe this will work soon. Hoping your next Lo comes quickly!

Still no Af for me! When I check cm or cp and wipe on tp it's slightly brown pink tinged. My temps have returned to my normal post o temps. Sore throat is gone. I did test again with FRER again today just hoping for some miracle of a line. Nothing. I can't even get a dang evap!! My back is crampy but that's about it.

When I was a lot younger and was on birth control I would get breast tenderness but nothing now. Dh doesn't take any supplements. He did start blood pressure meds this month. I take prenatals, dha, b6, vit d and magnesium. I really don't know what else to try. I did take mucinex during o this month bc I had a cold. I noticed a lot more cm with it. I'm considering maybe trying grapefruit juice. I don't get a lot of cm. I guess I could start serving Dh a vitamin with his coffee. Maybe not tell him it's something to help sperm count. Haha I'm sure he would be offended if I told him that. I have a dr appt with my ob Monday. I do suspect I have endo. I have very painful heavy periods and they have gotten worse the older I get.

Gosh! Sorry I missed your post here! I am the worst with remember where I've posted sometimes and a lot of times I'm surfing from my phone when I put in my FF stuff.

So odd that you're spotting!! Do you normally spot?

Some cycles my CM is great and others it's basically non-existant. I got a tube of preseed that we started using last cycle, but have also been concerned with the pH of my natural cm... I read that using a baking soda douche completely neutralizes the pH of your CM and am considering trying it...

My DH also won't take anything. I ordered him L-Carnitine and Maca Rootwhen I got the Vitex and he was only slightly offended, but refuses that anything is wrong with him. He's promised if we haven't conceived by September we will move forward with testing, IUI, IVF - whatever means necessary. Until then he's not making any changes.

I have to note that my period this cycle is so incredibly light I don't know what to mark it as on my chart. For me it is scant compared to every other terribly heavy and brutal period I've ever had in my life. This is what I think people who have "normal" periods experience. I wonder if it's the Vitex? If it is I find it freakin' incredible..

Also I was going to tell you I take one Maca Root capsule a day to somewhat cancel out the effect of the Vitex sapping my sex drive. It seems to work!

Well the spotting has finally picked up a bit well it's reaching the tp but not full flow yet. So four days of spotting this month before Af. I had two days of it before Af last month. Def going to ask my dr about it.

That's great that your period has been more normal this month. I'll check out the macs root. I still have a bottle and a half of vitex left but I'm a bit reluctant to take it. I had mid cycle spotting when I was on it for a month and I was in a terrible mood the whole month I took it. When I ovulate from my right side I have a lot of pain. Way more than when I o from my left. This month was left and I didn't have near as many cramps. Right side I have cramps for days. Not sure what's up with that. I never noticed this stuff when I was younger. It's all been since I had my last. I had a prolapsed bladder after I had my last. Luckily the further I got from delivery it corrected itself. I noticed something bulging from my vag. Called the dr and they weren't too concerned and said to wait till my 6 week appt unless it completely fell out!! I was like what the heck, wait!! Are you kidding me??? That seemed like a medical emergency to me lol. The dr told me it'd prob happen again if I had another baby and would probably have to have it fixed eventually.

That's good Dh is willing to do whatever necessary if you guys get to sept. Hopefully you won't have to though. My step sister had to do iui with meds. She ended up with twins. I had some testing done before I conceived my first. Luckily I finally got pg and didn't seem to have problems after that.

I hate waiting on o. I wish I could speed that up with something!

Just wanted to stop in and say hello. Hope all is well on your end. Af is in full swing now! Not as heavy and painful as usual. Thank god! Went to the dr today and my ob believes I have endo. She's sending me to a reproductive specialist for lap to check for and remove any endo. No appt yet bc I have to call my insurance to see if they will cover the specialist. She told me specifically not to mention ttc to the insurance so they know it's only for endo or they won't cover if they think it's for ttc. I'm going to call tomorrow.

Hey! Sorry I've been MIA! I started making a new quilt for DD and am totally addicted and sucked into it.

It will be great if they give you a good laparascope cleaning! Fingers crossed your insurance covers at least a good portion of it!

I have to go off island for an appointment with someone who specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy today. That means Target and the fabric store! Woo!!

AF is seemingly over for me. It was so light this cycle. If that's the new cycle with Vitex I'll take it! I think since my ovulation days in the past cycle have respectively been (in this order) CD 11, CD 10, CD12, CD 13 I'm going to play it safe and start taking OPKS @ CD 8 in a couple days...

Ohh I love quilts. I don't make them but my gma did. I have tons of them from her. I have a sewing machine but haven't used it much. I have a general idea of how to do a few things but never really put a lot of time into it. That's one of those things I said if I ever had the time I would learn.

Glad Af is over for you and it wasn't as bad as normal.

Hope you enjoy your shopping today :) I did a little after my dr appt yesterday. My new thermometer and opks should be in the mail today :) I don't temp thru my period. I sleep much better when I'm not temping. Lol we are suppose to get snow tonight. My kids are so excited!

Aw nice! They should enjoy a nice snow day! You should definitely learn to sew. Crafting is great therapy for me!

My granny also was big into quilts. This is actually my first quilt, although I've done blankets and such before. DD's is going to be a patchwork heart motif with wonder woman, super girl, bat girl. Hehe..

Was trying to attach pic, file on phone too big. I'll have to link it from home I guess. Driving onto the ferry now!

OMG. Just having time to pop in today and see yesterday's post didn't make it. I must have forgotten to submit or something. That's shitty. It was a monster post from my phone. lol

Did you guys get snow?! We just stocked up of food today. We're expecting a foot of snow Saturday, then snow and sleet Sunday so likely going to be snowed/iced in completely soon.

I've been swamped! We're having the roof replaced on our summer rental cottage soon so I've been dealing with a million contractors it feels like!

Here is the quilt so far. It's going to be twin size so when I finish the blocks there will be 66 total! I've definitely got a project cut out for me!

Aww that's adorable!!

We got 3 inches. I'd love a foot of snow! There's a winter storm just a tad to the south. I'm hoping it moves north a bit! I think it's the storm that will bring you all of the snow. I like snow but after a couple days I'm done. Since we live in the country the roads are terrible and I get a little stir crazy to get out after a couple days.

So my insurance doesn't cover either of the specialist my dr suggested. I called my dr back today and they are going to call me back and suggest someone else I assume.

I hate it when I type out a response and it messes up and doesn't go through. Our internet has been messing up lately and it's been happening a lot lately.

Aw I'm really sorry your insurance doesn't cover the endo gyno. My ex FIL is one of the leading endo specialists in the country ... and a huge reason I don't like or trust doctors. I mean I'm sure he's great at his job, but he is one who is more worried about social status and rubbing his money in others faces ... but that's a rant for a whole other day!! Haha

Got a high reading on my advanced OPK today! Looks like the baby dancing can start! DH will be thrilled when he wakes up to the news. Haha! I think we are going to dtd every other day til my peak reading and if possible get him off twice within an hour on O day... I read this new study last week that revealed an almost 100% success rate in those TTC in some study and I mean the numbers were huge... I will try to find it, but that's the goal.

Been too busy to sew the past couple days! Today I'm going to though. Honestly it's the cutting of the fabric I get lazy with. I even bought the tools to make is a lot faster and still hate that part. LOL!

Yay! I'm glad you won't have to wait long to o. Dh is all talk about twice in one day. Lol he always says we will but after the first time it never happens. I swear since I hit 30 my sex drive has increased like crazy but dh's has went the opposite direction. I've always heard women get in their prime in their 30's.

We ended up with about 3 more inches of snow on top of the 3 we already had. It's crazy windy and cold. I feel bad for Dh having to work out in this mess. I'm thankful I don't have to go out in it.

My new thermometer came in the mail today. I love that it has a backlight so I don't have to get up to see my temps. I'm hoping for better sleep this month so I can get good temps. Do you think melatonin is ok during ttc? I only take a 3mg tablet. It helps me fall asleep quick and sometimes quickly go back to sleep if I wake up which I normally do.

I'm also glad there's no long wait to O. I already got a peak reading this AM! Looks like we could have a blizzard baby!

I know what you mean about the 30s sex drive... I want more now than I ever have before. I feel like a horny teenage boy sometimes! LOL! It's the oddest thing, too because I was never super into wanting or needing it, but that changed for sure. Kinda crazy!

Ooh! What thermometer did you get? I need a backlit one! I struggle every morning fumbling for the thermometer then the phone to hold under the blankets to see the reading--- half the time I forget to dim my phone light before I go to bed so it blinds me. LOL!

The sex twice a day is one thing we usually manage to get on O day, but what I was talking about was sex twice in an hour! It TRIPLES mens fertility... here is the article I read:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3340440/Having-sex-twice-hour-make-men-fertile.html
