34 and TTC

Postby Mk0322 » Wed Mar 09, 2016 2:25 pm

I have three boys 15 and Twins 13. I had no trouble conceiving them. First try for both (naturally)! This is my second marriage after 12 years of of being single! TTC isn't going so well! I have not been on BC in 8+ years! Normal periods (like clock work)! We've been TTC 4 months now! I'm trying to be positive but I'm starting to worry! Is it my age, so something wrong, is it not meant to be. I guess I'm looking for comfort that all will be ok!

Hi MK,
I will be 34 next month. I have never been pregnant, but we have been trying since 2012 with never a positive. 4 months is a normal time frame. Your body has done this before so you know you can do it again! Your eggs may have aged a little since then and so it may take a little longer. Nothing is wrong. I would wait atleast 2 months and then seek a specialist or even go to the gyno and get a presciption of clomid. That could be enough to "push you over the edge" into pregnancy. Good luck with your journey!
I am 33, DH is 25, Trying for baby #1
Ovulatory Issues
Started trying October 2012
HSG showed blocked tube, Early 2013
Laparoscopy September 2013, tube corrected, scar tissue and fibroid removed-tubes were "handcuffed" away from ovaries.
Didn't respond to clomid
Late 2013 moved on to injectable medications
IUI in May 2015, BFN
IUI March 3, 2016....STILL HOPEFUL!!!

I've read that this is normal, but getting pregnant so easily with my boys has me frustrated this go around! I know it will happen when the timing is right! I said I would give myself 6 months before seeing my OBGYN! Can't help but feel defeated every month there's no baby!

I know the feeling. And every month gets harder than the last.

Hi, I am 35 and in the same boat. We have been ttc on and off for months now and nothing. I am about to really lose it here. I want to be pregnant already. With my first i was 27 and it took us like 8-9 months so i am not too worried but it is discouraging, isn't it? Hang on there!

Hi Mk0322, just relax (easy to say, but not so easy to do). It is recommended to see a doc if someone is 35+ and can't conceive for at least 6 months or you are younger than 35 and ttc for at least 12 months. Good luck with yr ttc and positive outcome xx

That is so exciting Mk0322! Congratulations. I am 35 and we are trying for our first. We have been actively trying for about 5 months. On month 2 we got our first BFP only to experience a very early loss. It takes some time for your body to get back on board with the TTC journey after that even if you head and heart want to keep moving forward - so here we are 5 months later. I'm in the TWW of our 5th month now and feeling positive and hopeful. It's so nice to hear someone elses good news that has been dealing with similar circumstances - gives me hope! So happy for you!
