Never thought I would want twins

Postby NavyDiverWife » Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:00 am

Is anyone else hoping (or secretly hoping) to conceive twins? A few years ago when the hubby and I were talking about future baby making he said he would be really happy if we had twins. I honestly never thought about it before he brought it up and the idea scared the crap out of me. Then again I also thought I would get pg the first or second time we tried or it would just happen on "accident" like it does to other people I know. Now that time just keeps passing us by I would be really, really excited if we conceived twins whenever we do actually conceive.

Absolutely. I always seem to be the exception to the rule when it comes to TTC. I keep telling everyone that I'm going to be the one to end up with multiples. Two I would be ok with it's more that scares me. Guess I'll deal with that when the time comes though. I hope it's soon!

Good luck to you!

Yes! I sometimes hope for twins because I'm going to be 34 soon and still ttc my first. I really want more than one but worry that by the time #1 gets here it will be harder to have #2 because of my age. Just want to vent about something: makes me so mad when people that have twins just complain about how hard it is! I'm sure it's exhausting but don't complain about it to the girl who has fertility problems!

Wishing you both bfps soon!

Completely agree.. I go in for my first OB appt tomorrow, and I'm hoping she does an U/S and sees two sacs. Even my DH seems to not hate the idea!

I do the same :) I only want two kids so if I were to have a boy and a girl I would be done! Haha it's what the df wants as well but I don't know how we would be able to handle having two at one time....also the expense that goes along with having two wooo. But the thing that I am totally going to take advantage of is my fiance is disabled (due to heart issues) so he has all the time in the world to take care of the kids with me working and all! Best of luck to everyone :fingersx:

Cocodaisy- I know what you mean. I'm sure it's exhausting too, but I would hate to have to listen to someone complain who has two and you're sitting there still with 0. I've never known someone with multiples but it drives me nuts to hear people with one saying, "You have no idea what it's really like". Guh.

wannababy2011- More than two scares me for sure, but I would still be sooo happy.

:bfp: FOR ALL! :bfp:

Good luck everyone.

As a "multiple" myself (I'm a triplet) and an Aunt to beautiful twin boys (13 months) I have to say that I would be extatic (did I spell that right??) to have twins. They are a ton of work (I've seen the difference with one sister with a "singleton" and one sister with twins) but definitely worth it. The bond the boys have (and I have with my sisters) I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. It's amazing and I'm so thankful for my sisters.

It's so nice to see a thread like this that embraces multiple births instead of reading ones about how people don't want them (not necessarily on this board but they do exist). So thank you.. from all of us twins, triplets, etc. out there :D

afireinside- It's so nice to "meet" a multiple and hear of such positive experiences. We don't have any multiples on either sides of our families so I've never been able to witness that type of relationship. It sounds like you have a pretty good chance of having your own multiples!

We no longer have any "reservations" of the possibilities of multiples. In fact, almost every time we have a conversation about TTC we end up discussing what we would need to buy more than one of. Come on second pink line...lol.

This post really spoke to me.

Since the clomid has the increased risk DH and I have had a lot of talks about it.
I secretly would love to have twins! When the doctor said clomid increases the chance I was excited.

I see it as my way to have 3 kids. DH doesn't know that.

I am the 3rd of 4 and sometimes wish I had started earlier so that I could have a big family. While we aren't mulitples the bond my siblings and I have is amazing.

I *want* twins! I want I want! I probably won't because multiples do not run in our family, but I would definitely call it a blessing from God if it happened!

I hate to say it out loud. But at this point I would probably be thrilled about triplets.

But the idea of twins is appealing.
