TTC #1 and feeling like a failure.

Postby Lil_Mumma » Thu Jan 12, 2012 7:03 am

I had my implanon removed August 1st. And my fiance and I have been trying since then, So far we have had constant negatives and the last negative appeared about an hour ago my fiance and I are not sre how many more we can take, this cycle just gone we used both ovulation tests and charting method. I am starting to think my implanon left me infertile :( Im also worried that my partner and I cant handle another negative test; Im thinking of making a doctors appointment and looking at Clomid. Any suggestions on what I should do or ask?

I don't know what implanon is, but I was on the pill for 10 years and we have been trying for 7 mths. I also tried the Mirena a couple of years ago and that was a disaster because my cervix rejected it. I am hoping that didn't mess anything up. We are also tired of the negatives. I just got af on Wednesday and had a melt down, which I have every month now. It is exhausting. Anyway, that was just to tell you I understand. But also I have an appt on Tuesday to make sure that there is nothing wrong...just for peace of mind. So, you might do that so you don't worry every month and wonder what is going on. GL and you will be in my prayers. :)

It seems like everyone gets to the point where they can't take the BFNs anymore. I felt like a failure the first time we really tried instead of not preventing (temping, OPKs, preseed, mucinex). I'm pretty sure the fact that everyone around me kept getting pg on "accident" is what weighed me down so much. It looks so easy, but really it's not and no one ever tells you that the average couple takes a year to conceive. I still have that feeling of failure every month but I just remind myself that one day I WILL get that BFP and so will you. Good luck everyone.

I feel your pain. I know it seems like trying since August (5 months) is a long time but my RE said that most healthy couples will conceive within one year (add 6 months if you were on birthcontrol) and 3/4 will conceive within 18 months. So you're definitely still in the 'normal' range.

I have been TTC #1 for 3 years with DH and we've only been diagnosed with "unknown infertility" which is frustrating as anything. I try to always stay positive and think that when our baby is ready to come he/she will and that I'm just waiting for the right egg and sperm to meet to make our beautiful first child.

Please don't get discouraged - we are ALL here to support you through this process. Just think.. if you got pregnant your first cycle TTC do you think you'd cherish/appreciate every second of your pregnancy as much as you will now when you do (and you WILL!!!) get your BFP? I hope it happens sooner than later for you but please don't give up yet... and be sure to enjoy the whole baby-making procedure with your partner.

All the best ((hugs))

There is a lot of wisdom in these words. What especially gives me hope is you saying:

most healthy couples will conceive within one year
and 3/4 will conceive within 18 months.
I'm just waiting for the right egg and sperm to meet to make our beautiful first child.
if you got pregnant your first cycle TTC do you think you'd cherish/appreciate every second of your pregnancy as much as you will now when you do (and you WILL!!!) get your BFP?

THANK YOU xoxo
