excited....and scared

Postby jessi1250 » Wed Apr 17, 2013 5:39 pm

We're finally actively ttc, and of course I want a child with every fiber of my being. I want more than anything to see those 2 lines and its always devastating when there's only 1 line each time I test. But I was thinking about it yesterday, and as badly as I want those 2 lines, I'm also kinda scared. Everyone I know tells me I'll be a great mom, but I'm kinda scared about all the work involved, including the labor. I've babysat and helped take care of friend's babies so I know a bit what to do, but I've never had to take care of one constantly and I'm so afraid that once it happens I'm going to regret it. Anyone else afraid to have their first baby?

I can definitely empathize with you! I've wanted a baby since a few months after getting married in 2009. We finally started TTC a couple cycles ago. I'm naturally a stresser, so while I'm excited about it, I'm scared at the same time. I think a lot of women go through the same thing though. It's a MAJOR change!

Hey i'm right there with you! When you really stop to think about it, it is terrifying!!! I work on the post partum floor of a hospital too! But i think that it is totally normal to feel like this. You are not the only on!
