Here's to ttc in 2014, January would be nice :)

Postby sjenkins86 » Wed Jan 01, 2014 11:06 am

Hey ladies! I'm currently just began CD1 of 3rd cycle ttc. Happy New Year to me AF!! Haha... I had a 28 day cycle my 2nd month ttc and this past cycle was 31 days. Just trying to figure my body out and hope we can catch that little egg soon! Took bbt each am last cycle and noticed the shifts on the chart and also had + opks and I am thinking I ovulated sometime around cd16. We used preseed last month and BD almost everday around ovulation time and I found that it was hard to distinguish ewcm vs left over preeseed making an exit? I was on bcp for 11 years before going off at the beginning of Nov 2013. I'm just hoping this process doesn't take forever :/ I guess I should be thankful that I started my periods and my cycle doesn't seem as irregular as a lot I have read going off the bcp. Here's to hoping we all get bfp's in 2014!!

Hi! Here's to a (re)productive new year! I too was on BCP for many years before going off it at the end of October. I had miserably irregular periods before BCP and I'm experiencing that now too. I'm on cd25 of my second cycle. My first was 47 days. I'm hoping it evens out soon so that determining O will be a bit easier. Currently the only thing I'm tracking is cycle days.

Good luck to both of you in the new year!

@readygirl nice to see another pit mama out there ;) We love our 2 girls! Yes, I must admit that before ttc I was thinking, "oh, it will probably take about a year or so to get pregnant since I was on the bcp so long" and I was okay with that... and then I started googling things. That's when the obsession started! So, I just started ttc and I already do the temps and opk and using preseed. Everyone in our family thinks I am crazy! I just waited so long to ttc and you prevent it for so long so when you're ready for it to happen, you want it to happen right then! I guess it doesn't work exactly that way :) My period just finished up today and it was so much lighter and better then my last one (the 1st one after coming off the bcp). I am hoping that cycle #3 will be the one, but I don't want to get my hopes up either. It is very annoying when everyone tells you to relax and it will happen when it happens. Ugh :/ @alwaysherebefore I am very glad I haven't had a cycle that long, I'm sure that was probably miserable waiting?! Good luck to both of you 2 ladies!!

@sjenkins - waiting was awful! I tested on cd36 and obviously bfn. Then all I wanted was for AF to come to start over.

@readygirl - where are you in your cycle? I think being obsessive is just part of the whole process, so if you test obsessively you're in good company!

Yes, I have came to the conclusion that being obsessed about it is normal. There are so many of us on here acting the same way, LOL! From so many posts I've read and people I have talked to- they all say that the months they got bfn they knew FOR SURE they were preggo, and then the moment they actually got their bfp, they had no symptoms! I feel like I get symptoms when I am ovulating like sore bbs and nausea and bloating from the actual ovulation process. I mean you're having all these hormone changes that would lead you to believe your body would act accordingly. I had been on bcp since I was 16 so it's not like I could remember what it felt like to ovulate or have ewcm... I don't think we're crazy- I think it's just part of the process!

Maybe being away from your usual lady friends will make your body figure out its own thing!

I don't think I'll be testing until cd35. Maybe later. I don't have high hopes for this cycle and my husband won't be around since he's moving. I can't imagine testing without his support and then him not being here to share the moment on the off chance I get a bfp...not sure I could do that.

I am not on a prenantal but I am taking a multivitamin. My doctor said as long as my vitamin has folic acid I'd be okay. My vitamin of choice is MegaFood womens one daily. I chose that because it's a food source vitamin made here in the U.S. It can be taken on an empty stomach and if I'm gaggy it can be cut up or crumbled up and be take that way too.

You should could check how much your prenatal has compared to what you had been taking, then supplement accordingly. Also if your into alternative medicine you could go to a massage therapist and be muscle tested for deficiencies. My brother tested me over Christmas.

Yay! I'm glad you're into the holistic stuff too! My husband is supportive but calls it "witch doctor stuff". Lol I don't trust conventional vitamins and herbs either. That's why I take a whole food vitamin. I'm sure a local health food store could be helpful. I order my herbal stuff through Nature Sunshine. They have a great reputation and high standards. My brother introduced me to it.
