I'm curious as to how long everyone has been ttc #1 and how old you are. It seems as though everyone around me gets PG first or 2nd cycle. Not sure if I should be concerned yet or not.

Me: 32
DH: 38

TTC: officially going on 4th cycle
unofficially: since Oct. 06 (took about 3 months off before our Hawaii trip)

A "few cycles" is definitely not the norm. From many Dr's I've heard that only 85% of all "healthy" (ie. no fertility issues) couples conceive within the first 12 months - meaning that 15% take longer. I am seeing a fertility specialist but we have unexplained infertility (which drives me crazy) and we've been TTC baby #1 since 2009. I'm on my 5th round of fertility meds and we've done evey test and ultrasound out there....

sooooooooooooooo... hang tight - it may happen right away (did for 2 of my sisters!!) but if it takes a bit longer don't worry :)

It's been over 17 years for me. Still not giving up. I was married twice during those years, so I know it was me who had some issue conceiving. Both my DH's had children. Now it's age factor for me so I've moved on to Donor Embryos. Hope this brings me my long awaited miracle.

Thank you for the kind welcome! I came across this website somehow and it seems to be just what I am looking for right now - ladies who are in the same boat as me and are here to support each other. As much as I appreciate my family and friends and their support, none of them understand what I am going through. Although I had a few friends who were TTC for 9 mos or a year, all of them have jumped off my boat and now have at least one child. I am on Day 22 of my cycle and will test for pregnancy in 6-7 days. I just went through testing in February and so did my DH. They couldn't find anything at all, other than slightly elevated Prolactin in me, which they found about a year ago, and put me on medication for. The meds are regulating it very well. Last month, they put me on 50 mg of Clomid and nothing happened. That was wierd because I ovulate on my own (unexplained infertility); however, the Clomid made my egg even smaller. This month they have me on 100 mg of Clomid, in hopes to get 2 healthy follicles. On Day 14, I had 2 follicles - 19 mm and 14 mm, so they gave me a trigger shot. So right now I'm waiting.... Not very far along in treatment. I basically put it off for quite awhile (over 2 years) in hopes that I could avoid this road:(

Indygirl - I am so sorry to hear this. But, I am glad that you still seem very positive about everything. I read your blog - very nice scrapbook pages!

For everyone, In follow-up to my last post, got a BPN this month. Was probably one of the worst months yet because I actually got my hopes up - something I haven't done in probably a year. When AF showed up, I cried for about 4 days straight. I was a wreck. I felt really stupid for getting my hopes up - I mean, why would this month be any different?Does anyone else go through that (feeling stupid for hoping)? I mean, it's really stupid when you think about it because why should I feel stupid for having hope?

Now I'm on 150 mg of Clomid and going in on Monday (Day 14) to see what the follicle(s) look like on ultrasound. Last month, I had 14 mm and 19 mm follicles on Day 14, so they will probably be bigger/more this month becuase my meds were upped by 50 mg. Doc is hoping for 2-3 healthy follicles. We might try IUI this month, since 2 1/2 years of trying naturally hasn't done anything. We kind of feel like we have to make some sort of change because what we have been doing obviously hasn't been working. Has anyone else had IUI work on the first time after TTC for a long time?

Lorrie - I see that the embryo should have been transferred today! I read your blog and am praying for you right now. Let us know how it goes please! How exciting! :) :)

im 19 my DH is 24, We have been trying for our first for a year and 5 months. We have had one m/c. We started preseed this cycle in hopes that it will somehow work some magic... should be ov thurs... so we'll see. i've also taken to charting BBT and using an OPK this cycle... which wont make much of a difference because we cant go much more than 24hrs without BDing anyway :) which is always good... good luck to everyone and prayers!!

I'm 30
Husband 32
8th cycle since we've been officially "trying".
I hear the average number of cycles for a woman of my age to get pregnant is 10 so I'm living in the hope. REALLY want a BFP. I've had one month out of the 8 when I took a test, the rest AF has been right on time. Soooo depressing : - (
