who is not looking forward to Mothers day?

Postby AussieLu » Mon Apr 21, 2008 12:03 am

Im not sure if im alone here, but when mothers day comes around it is always a sensitive day for me.
last year i was told i couldnt be in a family photo becuase i wasnt a mother yet - needless to say i was a mess all day.
and this year im due to ovualate this weekend and if it doesnt stick af is due mothers day weekend.

im not sure how im going to cope if i get af. i want to tell my mum that im pregnant on mothers day.

is there anyone else out there feeling this way?

I'm dreading it just b/c I had a m/c in March, and was so looking forward to Mother's Day this year b/c even though my baby would have been in my belly, my hubby and I were still going to celebrate...Now I'm sure I'll sit at home and be depressed.

OMG! Luisa, I'm sorry to hear that story about the photo! I would have been a wreck too! How inconsiderate!!! How rude! I hate MOthers day every year too as I feel I'm the only one who doesnt get to celebrate it! So I usually try to make it a big deal for MY mom, to get my mind off it NOT being about me....
Anyways... just wanted you to know your not alone with this. :hugs:

I have mixed feelings about Mother's Day this year. I'm excited because I get to fuss over my mother. She does so much for everyone and she give so freely of herself without asking for anything in return. So I try to make Christmas, her birthday, and mother's day extra special for her. On the other hand I would love to announce to my Mother and MIL that I'm PG on mother's day. I don't know how I'll feel if I'm not able to do that. I believe that I'll be ok because I seem to be at peace this cycle (Thank God! I was an emotional wreck last cycle). Only time will tell though.

I voted no. Even though it's Mother's Day, it will never be the same, my Dad passed away May 10th last year and it's just hard to cope. (I mean this for my Mom and celebrating that with her.) As for me, not being a mother.....yet. Doesn't bug me so much, but I'd like to be preg around my b-day(oct.), anniversary(nov.) or christmas(dec.). ;p

I Actually, hate holidays like Mothers day Fathers day, as everyday should be Mothers and Fathers day. But despite not being able to celebrate it and dreading it, you have to think about when you become a mother, wouldn't you want someone to do something for you, or are you going to dread it the same?
