Anyone know if getting the flu shot will mess up my cycle. I am on CD 6 and ever since I started ttc my cycles have gotten much longer than their 28 days that they were for 3 months after getting off the pill. I think the reason my cycles were longer as soon as we started ttc was because I changed my diet to the boy diet, increasing potassium, salt, lots of folic acid and stopped drinking diet coke. So this month I was just going to be me, no extra vitamins (just my prenatel and some mucinex to thin my cm) and my normal eating habits. But I work in healthcare and am pretty much forced to get my flu shot. Has anyone had it mess up or delay ovulation?

I had the flu shot and aside from 1 high temp, it made no difference at all.

I was also thinking about getting a flu shot this year. Does anyone know if it is a good idea for TTC in case you do get pregnant (to protect you and the baby)? Or, does anyone know if you can still get the flu shot if you do get preg?

They really push the flu shot for pregnant women so its 100% safe for pregnant women. You will find a lot of pregnant women that choose not to get it, but thats not because its not safe, its because you can still get the flu even with the shot.

If you choose to get a flu shot while pg be SURE they give you the single dose shot, not a multi use vial and not the nasal swab. The multiuse vial uses a preservative that contains mercury.

I actually asked my fertility doctor if i could have it while TTC as i need it for work and he said its fine to get while ttc. I'm not sure about when you're actually pregnant though. Iknow previously it wasn't, but science progresses every year so I suppose its worth looking into!

I had the flu shot earlier this month whilst ttc. I really wanted to have it in case I got my BFP as I work in healthcare and had flu last year which was awful. I'm not pregnant but would seriously consider it if I had been due to all the problems with swine flu etc in recent years. Best to check with your doctor though for up to date safety information

I got mine this year like I do every year. I received it on cd 9 and all seems to be fine, O'ed around the same time as usual.
