Positive OPK?

Postby thirdnerd » Sun Jan 29, 2017 10:17 am

Does this look darker than the control line? I have been trying to do the OPKs, but so far both lines appear to be pretty much the same. I just took this one though and so far it is the darkest it has been. Thanks!

Yes, this is very positive! Get busy! If the lines are the same, that's also positive. ;)

Re: Positive OPK? Then Negative, now Pos again?

Postby thirdnerd » Mon Jan 30, 2017 9:42 am

I'm confused again... Yesterday morning around 10am I had the positive OPK. Then about 5pm it was negative again. This morning, at 9am, it was positive again. I haven't seen a shift in my BBT, so I don't think I've ovulated yet. I'm wondering if I'm getting funny results because I was on Clomid days 5-9? Today is my CD 16. Any suggestions?

I don't know how clomid might affect it. That is odd though! I'd probably assume O will take place about 2 days after your first positive, but keep BDing until you see confirmation!

I should probably just stop testing, lol. I keep telling my husband that we only have to have sex "one more day", but it's already been 4 days in a row... I think I might give him the night off and see what happens tomorrow! Isn't it funny how at first they're all excited, but it soon looses it's appeal when they have to perform on schedule ;)

Oh don't get me started! I just wrote a huge long rant about that in my buddy group, but I also have come to terms with the fact we didn't BD last night and I just need to have yet another chat with him lol. That is so stressful though when you think you know what's going on and then your body's like "haha sucker!" The first cycle I ever used opk's was the cycle I got pregnant with my son, but it was also the worst one as far as planning went. I didn't O until CD 20 so I thought I missed my positive OPK's and basically just kept pushing BD for "one more day" until hubby and I had a fight about it. I use the term fight losely... what really happened is hubby got annoyed and made the comment that I was getting "too obsessed" (?!*$%#!) and I got my feeling hurt and burst into tears. After that, I explained all the details to him and explained why I was so confused and hurt by what he said, he felt bad, we made up, etc. Then I just told him we needed to have lots of sex and let him initiate it all. I got my positive opk a few days later and, bing, bang, boom, popped out a baby 9 months later. I would have thought that he would remember that conversation, but even though I understand my cycle better now, we are running into the same problems again, so we'll be having yet another lovely chat tonight. (Insert eye rolling smiley...)

Good luck on your end! You're not alone!

You shouldn't test in the morning because LH builds up in your system overnight. Afternoon tests are the most reliable!
