O after early mc

Postby TeaPotts » Sun Mar 12, 2017 11:11 am

Hi all,

I had a mc at 5 weeks in mid-January, followed by a 43 day anovulatory cycle that ended with bleeding induced by Provera. Currently on CD16 with no O yet. I'm just wondering if any of you have had a miscarriage and then an anovulatory cycle or two (or more) before your cycles got back to norm. What's your experience with or knowledge of this?

Thanks!

Hey Delia... Just following along. I miscarried last week at 5 weeks as well. I feel like my body is already gearing up to O and have read many women O early after a mc. I'm just not sure what to expect or if I can even trust my usual signs since everything might still be out of whack.

Hey guys. I am so sorry for your recent loss. I too had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in Dec. I was told by the doctor that anovulatory cycles can happen when I asked about trying again. His suggestion was to take a month off wait for my next period and then try. So that is what we did. My cycle was longer than usual (27 days compared to 24-25). I have no idea if I ovulated because I wasn't really watching. My second cycle after the miscarriage was normal for me. I'm on CD9 of the third month trying after the miscarriage.

I wish I could offer you more information. But I'm sure your body will equal itself out and get back to normal.

Oh, Becca...I'm so sorry for your loss. How are you doing? Hang in there. :hb:

tylkaml, I'm sorry for your loss, too. Are you trying for your first? I'm glad your cycles have regulated so quickly. It sounds like your cycles are usually pretty predictable?

Yes, I have heard of women who ovulate very soon after having miscarried, but also instances in which women take a few cycles to go back to normal. I don't know what my "normal" is, but my opks have been getting darker and my cm is fertile, so I'm hoping to O soon. Last cycle was sooooooo long, and I had a couple teases where I thought I was about to O, but each was a false alarm. Really hoping that isn't happening again  . But what will be, will be...

I'm doing ok now. I was kind of a wreck last week. I'm waiting on bloodwork to verify my levels are below 5 before we try again. I feel like I may be approaching O, but I know not to get my hopes up too high that things will go back to normal so quickly. For now I'm just trying to be patient and hoping that I can put all of this behind me soon.

Sending love your way, Becca. Have you gotten your blood hcg levels verified yet? :hb:

I'm going through this really weird I'm-right-about-to-O-but-we'll-see-if-it-happens phase, and I don't want to get my hopes up because my body didn't O last cycle, which was the first cycle after my mc. But today is CD19, the same CD as I O'd the cycle we conceived...so who knows.

I just got the call that my levels are below 2, so we have the green light to go ahead and try. I'm trying to be patient, since I know it may take awhile, but I hope it happens soon!

I'm sorry you've had to wait so long. That stinks. :/ Hopefully O comes soon!

Sorry for the short answer. I'm heading out the door. ;)

I'm glad you got the green light! Good luck this cycle, and I hope your body goes back to normal quickly. Here's what I'm trying to figure out currently...

I took one a day. I'm not looking at the photo currently (on my phone) but however many tests there are corresponds to the number of days! We've been BDimg consistently so I hope we catch the egg, if it was/will be fealeased. I had a temp rise this morning, but nothing drastic. We'll see what happens with that tomorrow...

The last one was one I took late morning today. I just took one now, at the same time I took the others with a 2 hour hold in the late afternoon and it's pretty negative...

Oh good, then you should most likely have confirmation of O soon! I'm a little jealous lol. Mine are still negative and all other signs of O are missing, so more waiting here!

It'll happen! I'm sure hoping to have some confirmation soon. I haven't O'd since December 27th!
