swaying for a girl using the shettles method

Postby mommabear28 » Mon Jun 25, 2018 1:11 pm

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site. I have two boys - 10yrs old and 2yrs old. I took an OPK about 12 hrs after conceiving my 2 yr old and it was positive. I didn't take one prior to that, so I'm not sure how soon it became positive.

So based on the Shettles method, we are going to try to sway for a girl this time. I absolutely adore having my boys but we know this will be our last baby, so we wanted to at least try to attempt to have a girl, if possible. We will be happy no matter what we get though.

So I have been tracking my period for the past 6 months using Ovia, and starting this cycle I decided to try to figure out when I ovulate, that way when we start TTC (either in July or Aug.), we have better chances of having a girl.

I am currently on CD 13 of my cycle which usually lasts anywhere from 27-29 days. I took an OPK yesterday afternoon and it was negative. I took another one earlier today and it was positive. I also noticed I have EWCF today. I know that usually when you get a positive OPK, that you should be ovulating (most of the time) around 24-72 hours later. Now based on the Shettles Method where they say you should try to have sex a few days before O, how many days before a positive OPK should we try? Also, what are the diet and lifestyle factors that come into play for trying for a girl?

It's been a few years, so I hope this is right (we were swaying blue, so I remember more of that, but essentially swaying boy and girl were opposite in a lot of things). For swaying pink, it was recommended to BD 3-5d prior to O, and not have sex right before O as XX sperm swim slower and live longer than the Xy sperm. There are a lot of foods that will help swing one way or the other as well (looking for acidic pH for swaying pink, alkaline pH for swaying blue). IF I recall correctly, for girl, you can eat sugary foods, drink caffeinated drinks and lots of dairy (want a lot of calcium). Do a search for gender swaying or looking for what foods help to create an acidic pH. There will be items you want to focus on and those you want to avoid. GL
