I was just wondering for all those who have experienced two labours, The time difference between the two??
Also if the commencement of labour was a lot different?
Ive heard that most 2nd labours are a lot faster and have heard mixed things about the lead up to labour with the second.

My first son was born in 9hrs 20mins; second was born in 6hrs 28mins; and third was 3hrs 37mins.
I was induced with my second son so its hard to compare 1 & 2 but with DS1 & DS3 the beginning was the same... my waters broke and I didn't get contractions straight away.

My first labor was 8 hours, the second was 9 hours...BUT my second daughter was posterior which made it more difficult for me to push her out.
My water broke with my first. My water had to be broken with my second, but I went into super painful labor with her.

i haven't had 2 children but i can tell you i wouldn't expect that there is a pattern to this! each individual circumstance is different and you may find yourself on a completely different birth plan than you anticipated!
i really wanted a natural birth and to experience labour is every woman's right. but sadly i was admitted to hospital with contractions 5 weeks early, at 35 weeks pregnant. my water never broke and i wasn't dilated. they checked the babys heartbeat and it was in distress. they pretty much told me "sign here" and i was in for an emergency c-section.
not my ideal scenario but my urine analysis revealed a bladder infection which the doctors assume brought on the early labour.
luckily my son is fine and healthy now, and super smart! but when he was born he weighed only 1,8kgs.
i don't mean to scare you but nature has its own plans so be prepared for anything!
good luck with the birth and i really hope you do have an easy one!!
