Does this sound like a "pre" miscarriage?

Postby WantToBeASingleMom » Sat Mar 02, 2013 2:13 pm

I am not sure what to call it, that is why I called it a "pre" miscarriage. Here is my...try to be concise...story.

* Last month was my first TTC. I usually have a lot of mid cycle spotting. It was almost nonexistent.

* I usually get sore/heavy breasts, but only a day or so. Last month my nipples, not full bbs, were sore for at the least 5-7 days. One day my left nipple was dry it got caught on my flannel pajama top (never ever happened before). That hurt!

* My normal periods last for 5 days (MHHLM) with heavy clotting. Last month I bled for NINE days...it did come right on time. Day 1-light and mucousy, Day 2-almost nothing, Day 3+ back to a more normal AF (LMMHHLL) Again, a total of nine days... never happened before.

* I never had a + preg test.

Does it sound like maybe egg was fertilized, floated around causing symptoms, and never implanted? I heard many first time moms miscarry bc the egg tries to implant, but your body fully doesn't know what's going on. I'm not unhappy, or depressed or anything. I'm just curious what you all think.

Thanks for reading, and so sorry for all your losses. :angel: :praying:

To be honest, without a positive pregnancy test it is very unlikely that it was an early loss. Progesterone can cause symptoms, but it is produced every month after ovulation. Perhaps you had a stronger O that produced more progesterone than normal. More progesterone would cause a thicker lining and heavier period. Usually, even if something tries to implant, you'll get a very faint positive HPT for a day or even a few days (many HPTs are extremely sensitive and women have got BFPs with a beta as low as 6), then a bfn followed by AF. HTH and good luck with TTC!

Thank you for all that info. I'm glad it doesn't sound like an early loss. I think you would know. :( I see in your signature, and I'm so sorry for all your losses. So happy you finally have your rainbow baby Mason. That is my nephew's name.

Are you TTC again?

Thanks! I just finished breastfeeding last week, so I'm waiting to see if AF will show up on her own, or if PCOS is going to cause problems again. In the past, I would only get AF 2-3 times per year without medication to induce it. DH and I would like to try again, but don't want jump into treatments until after I finish grad school in May (or at least until after I successfully defend my doctoral project in April). I plan to talk with my OB/gyn next month when I go for my annual exam about trying again. I guess we'll see how it goes.
