Worried about Trying again after Miscarriage

Postby MorePuppies » Sun Mar 17, 2013 6:40 pm

So we have 1 beautiful happy son 15 mos. old. I just found out I have a blighted ovum (8w4d) Scheduled for Friday. Worried about trying again... I am wondering if we should just be happy (which we are) with out perfect little son. We really wanted another baby...but I am so worried maybe this means we shouldn't. We are both 39 and maybe we should move on...

Hi there, I'm so very sorry for your loss :(

From experience, I really think you have to do what's in your heart. If you want another baby, keep trying! If it works out, great, but if it doesn't, at least you'll have no regrets. For me, I would hate to look back and regret not trying. I have a perfect 3 year old girl who is just amazing- we have also thought at times perhaps we should just be thankful for her and move on. But We both want more kids so we've kept trying.

I had a blighted ovum mc in September 2011, fell pregnant the next cycle of trying and my DD was stillborn at 20 weeks. I then had 3 early miscarriages in a row before being diagnosed with a clotting disorder. I started taking daily aspirin and am now 18 weeks pregnant with our rainbow. Never give up. :)

We have a buddy group called "rainbow babies and BFP's" if you'd like to join us please do. Good luck with whatever you decide. xx

Some editting to my first post...I meant I have a D&C scheduled for Friday. And I meant We are so happy with our 1st perfect little one....

Rosie-o Thank you for the invite...I checked it out ...but I just feel like Debbie Downer on that site...I mean I had all those "reassuring signs" Morning sickness, fatigue and such...and still this. Maybe I can join later when I get more on a positive track. I guess it is just too early for me to think about another baby or not...I guess I should just get through this. I found out Thursday and by waiting until this Friday I was hoping that it would be enough time for it all to take place naturally.. but it all just feels weird and depressing waiting for the end.
I really do appreciate you posting. I feel so alone. It doesn't help that my DH had to go away on a work trip.

for me the closure was having the medical miscarriage passing the tissue and starting a new cycle 3 months later. once i started that new cycle everything felt ok again. im not sure if it will be the same for you but i felt better when i knew we could give it another shot
