No heartbeat

Postby prayers12 » Tue Sep 10, 2013 5:38 am

I went to the doctor yesterday for our ultrasound and they could not find a heartbeat. I would have been 10 weeks this week. So now I'm trying not to blame myself but that is all I have to blame. I know it was nothing that I did. The doctor said it was probably a genetic thing. I"m so mad. We have been trying for so long and finally get happy news just to have it rip from you. I mean all of these other women that are having babies never have to experience this. They get pregnant first try and never look back. WHY me???

Sorry for the vent, but it's taking all of my energy just to hold it together to make it through the work day.

I am so sorry to hear they couldnt find a heartbeat. The same thing happe ed to me back in july. Frankly im still not over it and get really angry when i see pregnant ladies doing stuff they shouldnt like smoking. Yes i saw some lady that was very pregnant smoking. And yes i said something. Mom thought i was crazy but it hurts so much.

Are you going to have a natural mc or d&c? All i can say is be prepared with lots of feminine products for the bleeding. Nothing anyone cann say to make you feel better. I know for me its now my ultimate obession and it consumes me every day.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I just had a D&C a bit over a week ago. It sucked. If I could have avoided the D&C and taken misoprostol I would have. Is that an option for you? Did they offer? I had no choice because it was partial molar, apparently those are more risky. Some women do prefer the D&C because it's over fast, it's less physically painful and you can move on. But last time I miscarried at home and I was able to see my baby and it brought me a lot of closure.
Anywho. Recovery from just a D&C isn't bad, if you go forward with that. I ended up with a lap as well so that's more painful, but that's not very common. I'm 9 days out and I'd say I had heavy bleeding for a good week and now it's fairly light. Some people don't have much at all. I had no cramps either but that's normal for me since my last miscarriage... I don't know why... hormones change after each pg I guess.
We're here for you if you need to talk. hugs.

Thank you all for the kind words and information. I'm still going to go through with the D&C because I don't think I could handle seeing the baby myself at this time. But I have been praying a lot and I'm starting to feel at peace with the whole situation.

Susy07 thank you for the hugs.

I am so sorry for the loss of your precious blessing. I hate that you are going through this - I know EXACTLY how you feel. You feel robbed. You feel guilty. But you feel heartache more than anything.

The D&C for me was easily recovered from. I woke up sore from the surgery, but only cramped for about a day afterwards. The spotting from the procedure was on and off for about seven days. I'd spot one day a lot and none the next. I ovulated exactly two weeks after the procedure and four weeks almost to the day, AF came.

I pray your physical recovery is fast, but I know that only time will heal your emotional wounds. Lots of hugs to you, my dear. Thinking of you today. :hugs:

I totally understand that, not wanting to see the baby. It's definitely a very personal choice and depends so much on the person. I hope your D&C is quick and painless and you can start to heal.

Hey ladies, thank you for all the prayers. Sorry that i'm just now getting back on here. I'm doing very well. The surgery went well and i'm feeling pretty good. My emotions are still up and down so I'm hoping that they will get back on track soon. But now we have to WAIT yet again before trying. It's just hard after trying for so long and then this happens and you have to wait some more.

did they give you a reason for waiting? My understanding is that if it wasn't molar theres no health reason. But your ov might be late so that would make datinging a new pregnany difficult (for the doctors) lol. Poo on them. If you track your cycles and know when you conceive then you're set. I wouldn't wait.

My doctor told me to wait two cycles because of the D&C scraping my lining. She wanted to make sure that my uterus was nice and "fluffy" for the next baby. I think every doctor says something different.

Yeah. well I feel like if the lining isn't good enough you just wont conceive, kwim? I think it's worth a shot. But if you're not comfortable, don't do it, of course.

I know exactly what you mean! I wanted to wait for one period only but my husband is going strictly by the doctors orders and making us wait two. Of course, I am on the neverending period right now. It's been ten days since I started seeing blood and I'm still bleeding kinda heavily.
