Ok maybe this is lame, but for me its progress. Today marks a couple sort of milestones. It's been 9 days since my surgery/loss and today marks:

- first real outing and first day I won't spend most of it in bed.
- first time wearing real clothes again (not yoga pants and a plain tshirt). A bit nervous about this as my jeans are now tight and hit right at one of my incisions but I wrapped up the area to prevent chaffing and came up with a creative way to allow some extra stretch room.

- second day without spotting/bleeding
- hand is healing nicely (the nurse botched my first IV attempt so I had a nice inch high pool of blood under the skin that is finally starting to go away).

Going with DH to do some shopping and maybe to the farmers market. I figure I need to walk around more, get ready to go back to work on Monday and get out of this slump.

Gotta celebrate the little wins.

Ok I am embarassed to ask this lol, but I really don't want to call my surgeon yet. My follow up is 6-8 weeks, so end of November.

I was told not to have a bath or have sex but they didn't say for how long. I can wait to have a bath because I can shower, even though I prefer soaking in the tub. But we haven't BD since our anniversary, before the BFP. I was too scared to BD after I got my BFP.

Dr Google says the wait is everything from 48 hours to 6 weeks to prevent infection. I also read I should not even orgasm as it causes contractions and it's not good for the healing process (or something like that).

I know it's still too early (11 days post op), but I am thinking 4 weeks should be sufficient time to heal inside. Any idea? Did your Dr give a timeframe?

My RE told me 6 weeks. But like you, I hadn't BD for the 3 weeks prior to my surgery. I ended up at my GP's office for an appointment abut 2 weeks after my surgery and he told me I was fine. He said unless I was worried my husband "had something *wink wink*" that I would be perfectly fine to BD. We BD that night and it was fine. I just told him to be gentle until we knew how I would feel.

K thanks. I figured that might be ok, but I am still kind of nervous. I am still a bit sore but I think I just walked too much at work today and overdid it.

I was nervous too. My DH actually argued with me about it, but I finally told him I just wanted that 1 normal thing and it would make me feel better, and he gave in. And it did make me feel better and more normal.

Ya, I talked to DH about it in the car today and he said 'I really think we should wait the full 2 months'. He thought that no TTC meant no BD too.
I am still not feeling up to it yet, but no way am I waiting 2 damn months. I agree that it will make life feel more normal. The loss and WTT already suck, I don't need another thing taken away from me.

Exactly. I wasn't restricted on trying again, but they had wanted me to wait 6 weeks, which would have been almost 10 weeks total and I was totally not okay with that.

Ya I wonder if most of that is just the standard answer.

So they didn't tell you to wait on ttc for a couple cycles? I assumed it was for internal healing or just to refulate my cycles. Not sure, they didn't really say.

Nope, I went full steam ahead once I got AF again. Most doctors seem to say to wait 2 or 3 cycles, but I honestly think thats because they are lazy and want it to be easy to track the date.

I read that somewhere too. I might look more into this. I understand waiting a month to heal internally, but why the second or third month? I am pretty much back to where I was before I started. Even my temps are following their normal path. But I would still have to convince DH to go ahead.

I figured I might have had to wait longer, since my good ovary had been operated on, but even that didn't stop anything. My RE's only concern was getting my 1st cycle to know that I was in the clear. I don't understand the wait alot of them ask for either, outside of maybe the emotional aspect?

Ah yes, I had heard that too. That they want you to be able to handle another loss in case it happens again. I also heard chances of another ectopic right away are high, but I don't understand why that would be if my tube was removed. I could see if it was a salpingostomy that there might be concern or if my other tube hadn't been checked.

Yeah, I don't understand the waiting time either. I was glad my RE was fine with me moving ahead quickly.
