Hi ladies, I was told by my Dr that my MC completed on April 21st but I'm still having spotting and ++HPTs. This is now day 29. I know I should go to the doctor again and have this looked at, but my fear is that they're just going to tell me to come in for a D&C. How long did you guys bleed/spot afterward? When did your HPTs go back to negative?

Hi Ekko,

I don't know how far along were you in the PG. For my first (7 weeks), I bled for about 2 weeks. My HPT was negative by day 13 or so and I actually ovulated on Day 19
But mine was very early & natural. if you were further along, it might take a bit longer than that.

Hey ekkotack.
I bled for 4.5 weeks and I didn't get to less than 5 hcg until day 100. I used misoprostol and it was a very long and frustrating process. It took me 12 weeks to get a negative pregnancy test.
I understand your frustration. For me I had a retained piece of tissue that cause all the problems.

Hi, I just wrote you on the other thread, too, Kandii. I just got a repeat HCG drawn yesterday and will have another done tomorrow. Then, based on that, I will go back to the doctor. My guess is i have some retained tissue as well. And knowing my doc, i'll be headed in for a D&C. This is seriously the most frustrating thing ever! I found out back in March this pregnancy wasn't viable and here were are, almost in June, and still not knowing what the heck is going on.

I was in a similar situation.
My MC was diagnosed jan 21st and I used miso feb 5. I didn't not get to less then 5 hcg until May 15.
Sometimes they don't tell you how long it can take.
I didn't get a D&C at all through this process. I had to wait and see for 13 weeks. A D&C would resolve things more quickly then the wait and see approach but that being said you can always wait and see like I did. I went for hcg tests weekly or every two weeks and that helped to give me some idea of what was going on. I passed the last of the retained tissue on May 8
You will get there :)

You will. It can just take longer then you'd hope.

Hi Ekko,

I suspect that I also had retained pregnancy tissue because when I had my 2nd miscarriage (2 cycle after my first MC), I expelled a lot of pregnancy tissues & clots, despite I was very early (5 weeks).

I've been researching ways to expel the pregnancy remains so basically doing those that you are not supposed to do while pregnant. I started with running (faster than usual) then I would do yoga with deep twist in my torso. I feel like the retained pregnancy tissue caused my 2nd micarriage. The 2nd time around, I feel like I finally expelled everything. I know some women even do horseback riding because the bouncing triggers the expel (something that we should avoid during the pregnancy).

Hang in there.....
