My first pregnancy, My first pregnancy loss

Postby TeamSmizznoeBaby » Tue Dec 23, 2014 7:22 pm

Hi ladies. I wanted to post my story. I found out today that my pregnancy never developed.
This was our 2nd month (officially) TTC. My LMP was 10/30. I should have been 8 weeks on Christmas Day.
I got my first ever BFP on 11/25/14 after what I thought was my period stopped abruptly after only 2 days of light flow. I was so excited. I had never seen a positive pregnancy test before. I screamed for my husband. I was in tears. We were so excited. We found out only 2 days before Thanksgiving. We went to my parents house on Thanksgiving and the look on my face made my sister guess immediately. We ended up telling our immediate families our news by the end of the weekend. The people we would want to be there for us if something went wrong.
I started spotting the day after we told my family. I was 4 wk 4 days. The spotting has now continued for over 3 weeks.
I had ultrasounds at 5 wk 4 days and 6 wk 5 days and both times nothing was seen but a thickened lining.
HCG levels were rising but a bit too slowly for a viable pregnancy. Low progesterone levels. Was placed on progesterone 100mg 2 X per day.

We went back today and still nothing seen on U/S. Dr thinks implantation never occurred or did not occur properly. She is having us back in 1 week to discuss medical management.
We are devastated, but relieved to now know what is going on. I'm concerned about HCG levels in my body and how long it will take for my body to expel the pregnancy.
I now am worried about when/if we conceive again and being able to carry to term. I hate starting over.

:hugs: so sorry for your loss. I was really hopeful for you. I had a mc in october, and from the first day of actual bleeding, I o'd on cd 15 like a normal period would have been. I caught that egg and am now 9 weeks and saw a healthy baby. I totally believe that you can get pregnant again soon and have a healthy baby! It's just a little more stressful.

Thank you. That gives me some hope. I think my husband might want to wait a cycle before trying again. I'm not sure yet. I'm kind of curious to see when I might ovulate again. I started bleeding more heavily today. I think stopping the progesterone helped that. I might talk to DH to see how he feels about things in a week or two.

Well it turns out that I did not have a normal miscarriage. I went to the ER Friday night after having abdominal pain that increased through out the day as well as almost passing out on the toilet twice.
It was determined I had an ectopic. There was a 10cm growth in my left tube. Emergency surgery was performed and thankfully all I lost was that tube.
I got home from the hospital Sunday evening. And I am getting staples removed Thursday.
This was a huge shock to us since we thought we miscarried naturally several weeks ago.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. My DH and I had been ttc for 2 years.. finally got pregnant for the first time 10/2014 only for it to end in a miscarriage right before Thanksgiving and my birthday. It is absolutely devastating that words can not even describe it.
I hope we can both get our wishes soon! :hb: :hb:

I am so sorry for your loss. Like Ashley said you're not alone. It took us 2 years to conceive our son and at 38 weeks he stopped moving. He was born still on my 34th birthday. He was our first pregnancy, our first child and it has devestated me. To have things go so wrong on the first go around really makes you lose hope that much quicker. I am in an amazing support group with women who have lost their first at several stages of the pregnancy, for several different reasons and have gone on to have rainbow babies. They are my inspiration to not lose faith, that it will happen again for us and with a happier ending. The same goes for you...better endings are still to come. Baby dust to all!

I can relate to how you feel, I'm so sorry!!! I had my first bfp after 2 years of trying and it ended in miscarriage at around 7-8 weeks 3 months ago. It would have been identical twins born around valentine's day the same month with my sisters birthday. It seemed perfect....and it was devastating. Overall it was a very difficult thing to go through, the pain, bleeding and visit to the emergency plus the emotional part that doesn't leave you for a while. But ya giving up isn't an option, at the very least we got a glimpse of hope being able to get pregnant, so it must be possible again and most women do and often quiet quickly without having another mc. So this is what gives me hope now. Maybe it does that for you too.

Oh I just realized how old this topic is...but I'm sure people still read it as I did too.
