U/S results indicate threat to pregnancy UPDATE lost baby

Postby KTBrown » Wed Jan 07, 2015 7:27 am

The dr. Showed me I had a small bleed in the uterus next to a sac measuring at five weeks two days.

Says that the bleed could cause a miscarriage. I should expect to see bleeding shortly and more then spotting to go to ER.

Hcg tests today and Friday and ultrasound in two weeks unless I miscarry by then.

Should I be scared?

I called in and was told my number is 4,235.

Actual number last beta 4,300 and this time 4,800. They want another blood test and u/s but I don't see the point.

Sounds like a SCH (subchorionic hematoma) You need to rest!! They can be a threat to pregnancy, however they can turn out just fine if you follow advice from the dr. Most advice rest and pelvic rest, they usually absorb by 12 weeks and all is well! Good luck x

Thanks shells that is what he called it. Said the sac was on one side and the bleed on the other.

Danaa the only suggestion is rest and pelvic rest.

My measurement is right on considering ovulation was 17th of December and I didn't expect to see much before six weeks so that doesn't have me worried.

The fact that I'm going to start bleeding scares me!!

Well that's why I started thinking ectopic a week ago due to back pain and odd pain closer to ovaries. I know this isn't in my control and I need to take comfort in the fact measurement is right and I'm feeling symptoms of pregnancy now!!

Thanks for looking it up!!

I had a subchorionic hematoma with this pregnancy. I was spotting, so I went in for an ultrasound. The bleed was under the baby and right above my cervix. They said to expect spotting for a week or so, and recommended pelvic rest. 23 weeks now, and going strong. :)

My SIL had a SCH with my nephew.. She was about 8 weeks along, and she bled A LOT! The ER told her that they had never seen that much blood during pregnancy, and still leave pregnant. She had a beautiful baby boy full term :) My best friend also had SCH at 6 weeks after had just had a MC. She freaked out cause like you, she was told she had a higher risk of losing her pregnancy. But nope, in June she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! :) so, there are success stories! I would put yourself on bed rest, and keep your feet elevated. I'll be praying :)

The vast, vast majority of SCHs go on to healthy uncomplicated pregnancies. If your bleed is not near your sac then things should be fine as long as you take it easy for a few weeks. Like pelvic rest is definitely a good precaution. I have four small bleeds underneath the placenta and so far other than growing a bit slow, things are still OK so far. Most likely if and when you bleed, it will be brown.

Take it easy! I don't think you should take red raspberry now, as it can stimulate uterine contractions, though mild, aren't good for the baby.

I called the nurse about taking anything and she said not to I anything extra!!! This frustrates me because I don't feel like doctors fight for me but I worry to do my own thing will make it worse.

I had one of those sub bleeds with my 4th and my 5th both turned out fine. Blood even if you know the cause can be scary :hugs:

Sorry you are going through this:( try to relax and not worry, I know that's easier said than done. Vitamin E is actually a blood thinner and could make bleeding worse so I'd avoid that. Praying for you!
