Experiencing Loss #5, and getting jaded

Postby mio2787 » Mon Apr 17, 2017 6:44 pm

It never gets easier, does it? We just went through the whirlwind of getting that wonderful BFP a few days ago, only to start m/c today. Although I want a baby with all my heart, I just wonder if enough is enough and that maybe its just not in the cards for us. This will be our 3rd loss in 11 months, and 5th in 2 years. Losing both my mother and gma this year as well has left me devoid of any kind of female guidance(I don't have much family to begin with). I guess its just leaving me feeling a bit defeated. I know I'm not the first woman to go through this struggle, and I won't be the last. But man, do I miss their assurances and wisdom. DH is perfect in every way, and he has tried so hard to comfort me, but its just not something men can ever fully understand.

I apologize for the venting post and the involuntarily invitation to my pity-party. I just felt like if I didn't say how I was feeling somewhere safe where I won't be judged I would explode. Time to curl up with this heating pad and have a good cry :(

Mio, I am so sorry. :( I just had my first mc in March. I can't imagine going through that 5 times! I also lost my mom, almost 2 years ago, and there was one particularly hard day the week following my mc where I collapsed on the floor and just cried out for her. It doesn't matter how old you are, you never, never, never stop needing your mom!

Does your doctor have any idea why you keep losing pregnancies? Do they have you on progesterone supplements after your positive tests? Ugh. I'm just so sorry. :(

Thank you for your kind words. I think Im past the self pity stage by now :( They aren't sure. They say they think im ovulating too late perhaps and my follicles arent maturing all the way on their own. All other testing (I swear they have tested for every damn thing they can lol) and besides my PCOS, they aren't sure why I can't seem to get past 5 weeks. I'm supposed to take progesterone this cycle to see if will help.

I have heard progesterone can make all the difference sometimes! Even though it's frustrating, it's good that they haven't found any major reasons behind your losses. I hope the progesterone does the trick and you have a sticky bean on the way soon. <3

I am so sorry bout your losses. I am by no means an expert, but I would advise to check out genetics (karyotyping) or combine the treatment with pgs ngs xx

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I've also had 5 losses at 5 weeks the last two years and it is so devastating. Also had all the testing and there is absolutely no medical reason for them to be happening. Just want you to know you are definitely not alone! Hugs from afar and I hope you get feeling better soon.

@Mari Mo04, I am so sorry for your losses. Have you done sperm tests? Unfortunately, there are various reasons why you have experienced mcs, as even stress might affect yr chances of sustaining pregnancy What are yr doc's recommendations? All the best x

I'm actually 7 weeks with my rainbow baby right now! Saw the heartbeat earlier this week.

I had another loss over Mothers day and the next cycle I insisted on progesterone and ended up conceiving and having it stick. My problem was I would have great progesterone levels until about day 8 or 9 after O and then they would drop super low, but because I didn't spot and had a 15 day LP they missed it. They checked it at 13 dpo woth my last miscarriage and it was only 8. The progesterone did the trick for me. Dont give up hope!

Oh Mari, this is giving me hope! Since I last commented on this post, I lost another pregnancy at the same 5 week mark, almost to the day as my last mc. Because I've only had two, my doctor doesn't want to look into anything yet. I decided to take matters into my own hands and I'm using bioidentical progesterone cream this cycle. The nurse I talked to was somewhat doubtful that my progesterone was an issue, but in all my research it seems to be a solution for many people!
