Starting met

Postby Kaytlyn » Mon May 13, 2013 11:00 am

I just got a script for metformin today. Hopefully it doesn't make me too terribly sick. I'm hoping this will work because this cycle I started using OPKs and I never got a positive. I don't temp so I have to assume that means I didn't ovulate. Bummer :?

Anyway, I just wanted to tell someone about it and no one in my day to day life would even know what I'm talking about.

Hi kaytlyn, hope u start met slowly. Side effects can be brutal and discouraging initially. But if u start slowly, it's not too bad. I also highly recommend immodium, but def check w your doc. Hope it works for u!

I've been on met since last fall and it's helped, hut we have too many other obstacles. We are hoping to have a "metformin baby" through IVF soon!

Best wishes! Hang in there!

I'm starting with 500mg once a day for a week and if I'm fine after that she said to start taking it 2x a day.

I'm really hoping this works for me. It's frustrating not really knowing what's going on. I felt like a crazy person asking for met since I'm not technically infertile since we haven't been trying for over a year. But as far as I see it, we already know I have a problem so might as well do something about it.

Kaytlyn, you definitely have time on your side! Keep in mind that met can take a few cycles to kick in, but it certainly has worked for lots of ladies! Hang in there! Good for u for being proactive!

Best,
M
