Hi guys. Hubby and I are currently in the middle of our first round of clomid. After waiting a 37 day cycle out, I started 100mg days 2-6.
Just wondering if anyone who has been on clomid or anyone who may even just know, can tell me approx when I should O (if I do).
Would be much appreciated.

I believe an estimate is 7-10 days after your last dose.

I O'd on CD16 after my first round of Clomid. Use OPKs with first morning urine for best result. And don't wait so long for a period! Tell your doc you want Progesterone (or something similar) to induce a period. You shouldn't have to wait that long! :-) good luck!

I used Clomid last cycle and will use it this cycle. I ovulated around CD21-23 and I went off of cervical mucus I didn't use OPKs. I highly recommend using OPKs! I stressed myself out trying to figure out when I ovulated. I also used Provera to start my period after I got a BFN 15 days past ovulation.

Clomid can cause false positives on opks, also... Since lh builds through the day it's best to use afternoon urine to test....

I am going to respectfully disagree. There is no certain time of the day when the LH will be higher in your system. The LH surge could happen at 8pm at night. Therefore, it would not continue to increase in your body throughout the next day. Ovulation takes place typically 10-12 hours after your LH surge. The reason for AM testing is due to urine concentration. If you are taking in your recommended water during the day, it will be likely that your urine is so diluted by afternoon that the surge would be undetectable. Yes, clomid cause cause false positives on OPKs, but only if taken too close to the time you were taking the medication. You want to wait at least three days after finishing clomid before moving to OPKs. So if you took the med on days 3-7, you'll want to wait until CD10 to start testing. If you take it on 5-9, you'll want to wait until CD12 to start testing.

Okyla- personally I test more than once a day and am glad I do.... This cycle I had a negative opk at 6am a positive at 2:30 and a negative again by 6:30....
I also am going based on research I've done that tells women to test in the afternoon.

i think everyone is different.
I had an OPK that looked almost positive on CD 17. Tested at 3am (had to get up for work), every other one since then has been negative. So i dont know. but there is still a faint second line, this is the first month ive ever had any appearance of a second line, so its exciting, but also frustrating.

I always have a second line lol. Which is also frustrating because I'm just like GET DARKER ALREADY! But yay to you for getting a second line, period. CD 21 for me today-some pregnancy sx: tender breasts, constipation, had nausea last night, and increased lotion-like CM. But who knows, it could just be my body actually responding post-ovulation. And I respect your research, but as you know anybody can write anything they want to. The information I have comes straight out of my nursing OB book and what I had learned in class about ovulation. Your surge did come in the afternoon-had it come the evening before you would have missed it. And in this case, you would have missed it if you didn't test in the afternoon. It's all a crap shoot. Good luck to all.

Well from experience also. I almost always test twice if not three times a day and if I line up the morning tests next to the afternoon tests then the afternoon Tests are obviously darker than the morning tests on my days building up to ovulation.
Bottom line is that everything is not always "text book"
What I offer comes from my research which is often posts I find from forums saying others experiences as well as my own.
I guess the text books have to put something so they go with the general fmu rule since it would make sense urine would be more concentrated...
But like you said it's a crap shoot an everyone is different I'm sure.
I've never had a decent line on an opk with fmu except this last time when I was closer to O.
If you are closer to O then you need to test more often or you could miss your surge.

Stacee.... You probably just missed your surge if you were only testing once a day.... Are you temping??

I am but its all over the place. plus last week i was away working, and working at 3 & 4 am so there were a couple of days i forgot to temp. but it is only the first round, and some people dont O til CD 20-21-22 so who knows.
