Vitex & PCOS

Postby Kendra313 » Mon Nov 11, 2013 5:38 pm

I have had pcos for as long as I can remember and prior to the dr prescribing medroxyprogeterone I had 180 day cycles on and off. I am now ttc & have yet to get a positive opk on cd16 so I've decided to try a natural supplement called vitex. I've read mixed reviews mostly good (most bad reviews came from people who didn't have cycle issues or hormone deficiency to begin). I want to know if anyone has used this supplement w/ success, and to find out about other natural supplements that increase O??

Hi

I tried vitex but it did not help my cycles at all. My cycles are 35-45 days long. The cycle I tried vitex my cycle was somewhere around 60 days so I stopped taking it.

How long did you take it before you stopped taking it. I read several places that it's not a fast acting supplement that it takes about 2 cycles to work.

I took it for about 2 months. :) Have you talked to your doctor about trying Metformin and/or Clomid to bring on O?
