I have excess hair, and since starting metformin it is starting to go away thank god. I have tried every natural supplement out there and nothing worked for me until I started metformin a month ago.

My best friend uses a cream her gynecologist prescribed and she says it's helped a lot. I would ask her, but she is laid up with the flu at the moment. I know she used to shave every few days, but now she shaves like once every other week! Downside is that her insurance did not cover it because they considered it "cosmetic" and not medically necessary. Pricey at 150.00 a tube, but she said well worth it.

I'm dealing with this as well. It used to not be so bad--I would just shave it off, and it wasn't enough to notice once I shaved. After having my son, and putting on additional weight, it's almost out of control. It's on my cheeks, my chin, and under my chin--so horrible! I shave every single day, but it's starting to hurt, and leave razor burn, which I have to cover with makeup, and then my face feels dirty all of the time. I bought a Tria laser hair remover for my birthday a few months ago, and so far, it hasn't helped. However, I haven't used it constantly either, and I've heard that it can take time. You may want to look into something that like, or go in for professional hair removal. Otherwise, I think there are things your doctor can prescribe. The natural way to get rid of it, from what I hear, is to be at a healthy weight. If you are already at a healthy weight, maybe some type of medication could help you!

It's really encouraging to hear that metformin can help with the excess hair...I was diagnosed with pcos today and I'll be starting metformin tomorrow and have some excess body hair that I've hated for years, and was wondering if metformin could help with it!

Mine isn't too bad to begin with, but I started taking Nature's Way DIM-PLUS about a month ago and I have definitely noticed a difference in the amount I have to pluck etc. I use it mainly for my PCOS and this month I actually ovulated on CD 15 where normally even with Clomid it's day 18 or 19. I've been taking a form of Metformin for over two years and this so far has helped me the most. Best wishes to you!
