Need some light!

Postby tiffne » Mon Feb 24, 2014 8:47 pm

Hey ladies, with just recently being diagnosed, I've been to the doctors a few times, labcorp and now an ultrasound and it just feels like I'll never see the light at the end of the tunnel! :( My questions to you are, does it ever get easier? How long is the whole initial process? Will I have to go to the doctors frequently forever? How was your journey?

No, once they get you diagnosed and get all the answers they are looking for and get you on a good medical plan things will ease up. I know its hard going through all this! :hugs:

Hi Tiffne, luckily that you've been diagnosed with PCOS coz there's so much info you can find online on how women took certain supplements, changed their eating habits or taken herbs to be able to fall pregnant...SO MUCH you can do :D, so don't stress Dear!

Thanks for the responses girls! No one i know has never even heard of PCOS so trying to talk about it doesnt do me any good. Ive been googling like a mad woman trying to understand it all. Ive seen the articles about the different supplements women try and do have me curious. I have a bottle of Femaprin (vitex & b12 mix from walmart) and want to try it but dont know if I should wait until I try the meds the doctor gives to me first??

It totally depends on you. Other people prefer to get medication and others do their own research and buy their own supplements.

Even though I took clomid from the Dr, I still bought my own supplements on the side. Sites like this one can give you extensive information from women who are suffering and have conquered PCOS first hand! If you go to google, you can even find PCOS friendly diet and all that kind of information.

Thanks Thully, I think ill wait a lil longer to see what the doctor says. I go march 4th to my new doctor to discuss my ultrasound and to go over my options. My insurance doesnt cover infertility treatments so im a bit nervous that I wont have many options to choose from. Do any of you know how much the clomid or other infertility meds cost if they arent covered?

Hey girls, so I just got home from the doctors. He precribed me BCP for two months to shrink the cysts and then after the two months ill take clomid 1/2 of a 50mg days 3-7. I see people are taking 50 & 100mg but never jus 25? Have you? and he mentioned nothing of metformin but I see almost everyone with pcos is taking it. Is the clomid guna work with such a low dose and no metformin?
