Metformin Success w/ PCOS

Postby kflores31 » Tue Dec 23, 2014 9:56 am

Hi ladies,
Anyone out there that got a BFP off of Metformin alone?? I was diagnosed with pcos last month, prescribed Metformin and will be starting that soon. Doctor wants me to try it for 3 months and see if it regulates everything. If not, then we'll do Clomid at that time. I'm crossing my fingers Met works on its own. Any success stories from anyone out there???

I took Metformin and Clomid for 2 months. Then just Metformin for a month. It regulated my cycle to a somewhat normal 33 or so day cycle. We took a break from Metformin the next month and got our BFP. Metformin really did help regulate my cycles so I say stick with it. Mine were pretty normal the second month of taking it. This time around I have been taking 4000 i.u. Vitamin D (and Magnesium the doc said it helps with the absorption of the Vitamin D) for 8 months or so and that alone has regulated my cycles. So if the Metformin doesn't work get your doctor to test your Vitamin D level. Best of luck!
