Intro and Hello

Postby Littletiny » Mon Nov 30, 2015 7:29 am

Hello!

Someone referred me to this website and I'm so happy I found it. Me (26/f) and my husband (27/m) have just started trying in the last few months. 5 years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS, at the same time the specialist thought I had endometriosis, but nothing concrete was found and I haven't heard about it from my doctor since. In addition I have thryroid nodules, and no concrete diagnosis there either. I've always wanted children and know that being a momma has always been my calling. I have feared TTC though for the last 5 years, because my doctor, and my OBGYN have always said that it will be more difficult. I'm so glad to have found this group for support. Even though we're new into this period in our lives, the stress and the concern are very real. I hope more than anything that we don't need to start meds in 4 months (doctor wants me on metformin if we're not pregnant by April). Really look forward to getting to know some of you ladies - along with make some friends, and offer support to those who need it.

Big hugs,
Littletiny

Hello.

I'm 31 and DH is 32. I was diagnosed with PCOS a little over a year ago. I had really irregular cycles and didn't always ovulate. Now since I'm on metformin twice a day I have ovulated the last four months on my own. I am going to my consultaion for IUI in a week.

Nice to 'meet' yo Wiashfull. How did you find out whether or not you were ovulating - did you temp, or was it something you found out with the help of your doctor?

I would go long periods of time without AF. I had a huge series of blood tests done and the Dr said it was the lack of ovulation.

I do temp now, and I use opks. But the OPKs don't give me much notice. I seem to have a short surge.

Hi! Welcome! I'm fairly new to the board, but also have a PCOS diagnosis. New to charting/temping as well.

How long did you have to go through this before getting seen by a doctor? I was thinking of finding a new doctor (just moved states) and seeing if I can bring this up. Every time I have in the past, they just put me on BCP.

Tell the dr you want to start trying for a baby. Or just say you don't want BCP
