I have gotten blood tests done and went in for my ultrasound today. My left ovary had 7 cysts on it and the technician really didn't know if I have PCOS according to ultrasound. I a,m waiting for the DR.'s diagnosis, but of course on pins and needles. So, for the women out there that have PCOS, how many cysts did you have? The technician did some research on the internet while I was there and 1 website she found said that it used to be women who had 10-12 cysts was considered to have PCOS, but now it is 30 cysts. Just need some input on what you all know and have experienced. Thanks!

PCOS is a lot more involved than just cysts...you can have lots of cysts or no cysts at all and still have PCOS. Very basically, PCOS is a chronic hormonal imbalance that may cause a lot of other symptoms including cysts on the ovaries.
Try not to stress until they are done running all the tests...I know it's hard, but they won't really know what's up until the doc has had a chance to evaluate all the pieces of the puzzle!! Good luck!

I have PCOS (found out in January that I had this) and I have 14 cyst on one side and 10 on the other. So, if you have 7 you are in better shape than most.
Good luck to you! Baby Dust!
