Would anyone like to do the Endo diet with me?

I was diagnosed with endo II two years ago. After a lap I was able to conceive twice! I just had my PPAF and had horrendous endometrosis pain which is new for me. It never hurt this bad. We think we're done having babies for now, but I need to follow the endo diet to stay healthy.

Anyone want to join me? It is a hard one to stick to and I could use some support.

I've been on it for almost 5 months and I'd love some support! I've seen a HUGE reduction of pain from it. Mostly from cutting out gluten.

Have you started it yet? Any luck?

I havent started it in ernest yet. I've switched to oatmeal for breakfast. I cook it in organic apple juice so I dont have to add any sugar. I am also cutting down on my caffeine intake. Down to one large coffee in the am. I already dont eat dairy because of DD and I've switched from soy milk to almond milk. Going to slowly phase out gluten. What are you having for dinner?

You're making awesome changes! I'm struggling with dropping caffine...

I went cold turkey on gluten and dairy although I sneak gluten every once in a while (only on fried calamari, my favorite!) I figured if I eased out I would just keep letting myself sneak stuff... I was surprised though because I had allergy testing done that showed a severe dairy allergy but only mild to gluten, but I tried to re-introduce gluten and the pain came back immediately! Pretty crazy!

I eat a ton of rice now! A great trick I've found is saute up some onion, garlic and bell pepper in a little olive oil and then put that in the rice cooker and use chicken broth instead of water. Its almost a meal by itself!

Dinner tonight, Taco left overs with corn tortilla shells. I find I miss the cheese less if I put fresh guacamole on them! I make home made pan fried corn shells with gluten free corn tortillas, they're amazing!

What about you? What are you planning for dinner? Also is DD allergic to milk?

By the way, congrats on your babies! THey're beautiful! Its so nice to hear success stories of other endo girls. The lap didn't work for me and DH. We're on our 4th round of clomid (which sucks!) and moving on to IVF when he gets home from his deployment in May/June. I'm excited to spend three glorious months back on birth control! Life on BC was so much nicer!!

Thank you, you made me feel better about the little changes I've done :) I find that when I drop gluten cold turkey - I go insane! Like a crack addict I start craving everything, even things I don't normally care about like pizza and sandwiches. Did you give up meat for the endo-diet? I'm having a hard time with that, but I do buy all of our groceries at a local health food store so the meat is hormone free and the produce is organic. Luckily we get a discout at the store because DH volunteers with our local fire dept. I am breastfeeding DD and I've found that she is a lot less colicky when I cut out dairy. My son was the same way.

TTC was so hard for me! I know what a struggle it is. My heart hurts for everyone who is going through it. I started going to an acupuncturist the month before I got my BFP with DS. I can't say that it did the trick, but I definitely was happier. It felt like all my sadness that I had been feeling for the past year left my body with the acupucture. I also enjoyed having someone care. She really cared about me and I think of her as my fairy-godmother :)

I made chicken and veggies in a curry sauce over brown rice for dinner last night. It's difficult being on an Endo-diet when I have DH and DS to feed too. Although I suspect most people could benefit from going gluten free.

I was looking at your blog, and I have to ask - Is that picture of your wedding? Is it in a shopping mall?? Very curious :) My blog link is in my siggy if you're interested. I've put a page up that outlines the endo-diet.

Haha, yes its my wedding and no it wasn't in a shopping mall! It was at a train depot in my home town. The building has some really interesting places to take pictures and thast where we hosted our reception.

I didn't give up meat... I couldn't! I love meat! But I gave up non-organic meat. We have a lot of game meat since we live in Alaska so I eat alot of that, and Costco here sells organic meat so I buy it and freeze it so it isn't as expensive. I do eat less though, I try and make one pot dishes like stir frys so that I can use less meat with out feeling like I'm getting cheated!

The first week of cold turkey GF/DF was hard but after that I felt so much better that I didn't crave anything anymore. My relationship with food has totally changed because I can't just have what ever I crave, its interesting. DH has spoiled me, he eats what ever I eat unless hes out of the house!

I tried acupuncture for a while but didn't like my acupucturist, you've inspired me to find a new one! Also I see a naturopath that had me tested for allergies and she really believes in the eat right for your type diet. Have you heard of it? I'm type O blood and they're supposed to eat meat, no dairy and no gluten so it kind of works! I'm not sure how much I really buy it but its worked so far. I need to go back and read Dian's book to remind myself what else I shouldn't be eating!

I checked out your blog! How do you create other pages and link them? I'd love to creat an endo info page! Also did you see the thread I posted here about the endo genetics study? Its a great opp to support our cause with out having to donate $$!

How cool! A reception at a train depot. It's actually a very romantic place now that I think about it. DH and I got married on glacier point in yosemite. There was snow on the ground but it was warm enough for me to go barefoot. Ah, memories :)

You've inspired me - so far I've not been brave enough to go gluten free entirely, but the store I grocery shop at has tons of GF stuff so I will figure it out for monday's grocery shop.

My accupuncturist was also into holistic stuff, nutrition, supplements etc. She told me to wear red socks  She was a tiny old german lady with a strong accent. I love her so much :)

You can put other pages on your blog by going to the dashboard and clicking on post. Then there is a sub category where you can "edit pages". I will have to look at your endo study again. If you participate, do they give you back any info about your genetics?

Sorry, I've been gone a while, not sure if you're still checking back here. I just wanted to let you know that I have a 2 cm endometioma on my right ovary and don't even feel it!!!

I really believe in this diet, especially cutting out gluten!

Last time we talked you were just starting GF, have you been able to stick with it?

I made some good rice the other night. Just cooked a wild/brown rice blend in the rice cooker with chicken stock. Sauteed some vegis (onion, garlic, mushrooms, asperagus, peppers) with olive oil and then added moose meat (you could use beef or if you're avoiding red meat use ground turkey) then once it was cooked I mixed the rice in and cracked in a few eggs and stirred and cooked the whole mix until the eggs were cooked. Otherwise just seasoned with S&P. It was delicious!

Hope all is well!

Hey there! I've been following you on your blog  Thats too bad about the endometrioma! Will you have a lap?

I was diagnosed with endo when I complained about pain on my left side. The ultrasound showed a 5 cm endometrioma on the left and a 4 cm one on the right - I didn't have any pain with the one on the right one so go who knows why it sometimes hurts and sometimes doesn't.

I am still sorta doing GF but we're all sick so I hope to be back on track next week. It's all about the grocery shopping and having enough snacks etc in the house that are gf. Otherwise I will have toast or something. I'm not going to give up! It's just a slow process for me.

I've been following you too, although I can't officially since you don't have a follow button on your blog for some reason?

I'm currently trying to figure out how to handle the endometrioma. I think a lap might be the best thing, get it all cleaned up before IVF but then again it would be nice to not have to have surgery again, less than a year after the first. At the very least I'm going to be monitored 6 weeks after the first to see if it has gotten smaller. The problem is with scheduling, if I need to have a lap I'll have to have it done soon and want as much time for healing as possible before the IVF cycle starts.

I'm back on BC now, hoping they start taking care of the pain soon. Just had a really terrible AF. The GF diet seems to be helping with the cyst pain but not really with AF pain since I started clomid.

Sorry you guys have been sick around your house. GF snacks are hard to find, my grocery store has some good top ramen type options in the oriental food section that have been a life saver for me during AF.

I will have to figure out that follow button on my blog!

I've been doing yoga lately and yesterday the program had us do this weird breathing thing and it made my ovary hurt  I am almost certain I have another endometrioma. It feels just like it did last time. I am going to try to ignore it until my daughter is weaned so I can have the surgery, but that is six months away at least. Sometimes its not such a good thing to wait because it can rupture or twist. When do you start your IVF cycle? Does your doctor think it will shrink?

Yesterday I made some soup to eat for the rest of the week lunches. So I have most meals GF but still working on the snack issues. Bought some GF baking mix as well as some GF brownie mix! The brownies are delish :) but the sugar and chocolate are not what I'm supposed to be eating

Yoga makes my ovaries hurt sometimes too! I think maybe its the twisting? Sorry about your endometrioma, are you on the mini pill while you're BF? Or any BC? I've heard the mini pill allows you to BF while not ovulating so the endo shouldn't keep progressing, not sure though.

I called my doc (my regular OB/GYN who did my last surgery) yesterday to ask if she thought we should move forward with surgery right away or wait and monitor the cyst. Hopefully I'll hear back today! I'm ready to get this solved!

Soup is such an awesome meal, so good for you, low in meat, high in veggies and water and so delicious! One idea for snacks in GF Rice or Corn Chex, you can make muddie buddies for the kids or regular chex mix for the lower sugar variety... Although I just love sugar!

I need to start eating healthier again, not just GF/DF. I've let myself slip lately and I need to get a decent beach bod ready for our Europe trip! I'm having people over for dinner tonight and making chicken fajitas, everyone else will use flour tortillas but I have corn for myself.
