6 months post lap :/

Postby elimain » Mon Apr 04, 2011 5:15 pm

This month marked my 6 months post lap. This was my second lap. The first in September 2009 was pain and diagnosis related. Diagnosed stage three. The second was for fertility. Both laps went successful and neither caused me much bleeding or pain. My doc said I should conceive within 6 months. When I asked " if this doesn't work?" and she said don't worry you will be pregnant in 6 months.

Well here we are and no luck yet!

Going back to the doc next month to reevaluate. Now I'm worried I just created more scar tissue and have caused more problems for trying to conceive.

Also, it seems my doc did things differently. She didn't want to wait for me to try to conceive without that second lap. Any thoughts? Interested in what your doc may have told you.

Really in need of some words of encouragement.

Sorry you're at the 6 month mark, I've heard laps help us conceive but not always. Just out of curiosity, has your partner been tested too? It could be more than the endo. Good luck!

That is one of the things we are moving forward with next month. We wanna let this month ride out without any opk, bbt, preseed, etc... I am calling it a brief intermission before we go full force to the docs.

My doctor told me if you are 35 or under - most people have success after a lap.
Were you put on meds/hormones to inhibit the endo from regrowth for 3 to 6 months? That is supposed to help.

I am 39 years old. I had my first lap on June 12, 2008 and found out on December 12th 2008 we were pregnant with our dd. It took us 6 months because my cycles were short after the lap. My body was trying to get back to normal. I started acupuncture and chinese herbs and the first 28 day cycle we conceived naturally, while being monitored by my re because I have to be on blood thinners for a blood clotting disorder.

Lap #2 was April 2010...I was 8 months post partum and my endo was way worse than the first time. My re says it had to to with my auto immune issues. This time I was stage 3-4 first time it was stage 2-3. We then took a break so my cycles could get back to normal and I was also again doing acupuncture and chinese herbs. In September we decided to try and we conceived again naturally, on the first try while being monitored by my re.

*I highly recommend a good acupuncturist who is experienced with fertility. IT took us 2 years to conceive our dd. We had to leave the first RE because he said I needed ivf with donor eggs and he did not want to do the lap.

Acupuncture works! I was on herbs too and that helped get my cycle back to 28 days.

It'll be a year since my lap on the 27th. My doctor also told me I would be pregnant in 6 months and if not we would do a few months of Lupron... I'm not ok with Lupron, but we moved last June so I didn't have to worry about it anyway.

I'm only 21, have been TTC for 3 years, DH is perfect, and endo (mild stage 2) is the only thing that's been found that could even remotely be standing in the way of conception. I think I waited too long after my lap to move on to treatments, but I'm currently on Clomid for the next 6 months. Clomid isn't exactly recommended for women with endo, but I'm actually having less endo related pain right now. That might change closer to ovulation, but if I get a baby out of this I don't care!

KUP on how your appointment goes! :D
