BCP and Endo

Postby aidynsmom » Mon Sep 19, 2011 2:29 pm

I was diagnosed with stage I endo over a year ago since then my sxs have increased a ton. I had a lap and my ob thinks its back. She put me on bcp to help ease the pain, but the pill makes me feel irritated and give me headaches and spot throughout my cycle. Isnt there anything else I can do?

I also HATE taking it when we want more babies. Ugh!

My endo is more severe than yours. They were not able to remove most as it was a bit too dangerous - bowels etc.
My doctor told me to help reduce the endo I could either go on drugs that mimic menopause or the pill. The pill is not as strong but will not harm my ovaries. With the strong meds my ovaries might not recover. The pill would help in - that it gives a lighter bleed.
in your case, If the pill is bothering you - try a different brand/formulation.
She said six months minimum for it to be effective.
