It kinda sounded to me like the hsg was the precursor to the lap? you couldn't have one done without the other? maybe it was just that re - i know they try to get as much money out of you as they can. If I know it's possible just to get the lap done, then i'd be a happy camper/

I would just ask then. I had my lap without a HSG, although they wanted to do one. My insurance doesn't cover squat so I opted out of the HSG.

Good to know! Thanks Amber for the response. I will ask for next time. My insurance doesnt seem to cover much of anything either, was real surprised when I went in the 1st time, they drew blood and performed an ultrasound to see if everything looked normal. $2k hospital bill. Wasn't real happy about that one!

Sounds like you're in the same boat as me. Actually just got off the phone with DH and he was telling me that our insurance only covered $36 of my surgery and we have to pay over $2000 :omg: WTH's up with that?! I'm not really sure what we're paying them $700 a month for?!?!

No kidding! We have Aetna, what kind do you guys have? We are trying to hold off as long as possible to see the RE, hoping we get pregnant on our own. However, this pain doesn't seem to go away each month with every period. We also haven't gotten pregnant on our own either, so it may be our only option to start treatments of some sort.

We have Anthem. I would say go ahead with the treatments. You've been TTC for a long time. My DH and I have a similar background. We have 1 child that was born Jan. 2004. Until a little over a year ago we were NTNP since she was about 6 months old. The past year we've been TTC hardcore. I've gotten pregnant 1 time but that ended in a m/c in Feb. Was just recently diagnosed with Simple hyperplasia and endo. My doc said that was the reason I haven't gotten pregnant and stayed that way. I wish I had done more to figure out what was going on years ago. We've been waiting 8 years for our #2 to come along and this cycle I'm on now will be our first "real" shot at TTC.

I'm expecting to O between the 14th and 17th of this month. I hope anyways. My doctor put me on Provera & Clomid for the simple hyperplasia so I'm not sure if it'll throw off my cycle some. So far this AF has been really weird so I have no idea what to expect really.Would be awesome to get a BFP first shot but I'm not expecting that at all. And thank you :) I'll be doing the same for you!

For the past 5 years, we have been "not preventing". Never followed what my cycles were or anything. Just left things up to chance. Decided to see a RE in June to see what was up and why I was having so much pain. This is the 3rd cycle we have been adamantly trying (using preseed, tracking cm, eating pineapple core, bd every day, bought a fertility monitor, etc). We are going to give it until next month and if nothing happens, we will resort to seeing the RE again and see what our next step is.

Well, lets hope you get knocked up and don't need that RE :D However, I hope you're able to figure out why you are in pain. I've been there and know it isn't fun. This is my first AF since my endo removal and I did cramp but I didn't have to pack a bag and stay in the tub. My DH thought something was wrong with me when I got out of the tub after only 15 minutes LOL.

Oh my gosh girl, that had to have been the best feeling! Did it hurt as bad as it normall does? I am just anticipating the worst...I know af is looming, I can sense it. I'm 15dpo and I have a feeling it is going to show up tonight. Did you get a scar from the procedure?

My cramps were not nearly as bad as they usually are. I think some OTC pain meds would have knocked it but I didn't even take anything. I do have 3 tiny scars from the procedure. One on the lower left side of my belly (about 1cm long), one inside and on the bottom of my belly button (about 1cm) and one just above my pubic bone. They're not bad at all. Had 1 stitch in each. After surgery my pain was very tolerable, except for the gas pains! I've heard that it doesn't bother some people but my shoulders hurt so bad when I sat up that I stayed in bed for a week. I'm surprised I didn't OD on gas meds LOL. They pump you full of gas so they can see better and it irritates the nerves that run up through your shoulders. If you get a lap I hope the gas isn't an issue for you. Just in cause I'd buy some REALLY GOOD gas medicine LOL.
