Has anyone had a ventri suspension done?

Postby have6furrybabies » Mon Mar 03, 2014 1:57 pm

Hi. I went in for LAP number 6 on the 21st of Feb. i thought it would be straightforward removal of cysts and endo, but when I woke up from the anaesthetic, they told me they'd done a procedure called a ventricular suspension. I have been so sore and recovery is proving slow, not at all what i expected. I can't find anything about the procedure on the internet. If anyone has had one done and can commiserate and let me know how long it took for the pain to stop, I'd really appreciate it. I'm really not a wimp, but am taking strain...

I'm guessing the lack of responses means it's a resounding no...

I'm sorry :( I've never had it done, or heard of it. Has the doc been helpful in answering questions?

Hi Loving

She wasn't initially, but explained more when i went to see her a week later cos i developed an infection. She told me that the pain is to be expected - it's a very painful surgery. Basically, they have tied the ligaments holding up my uterus to the muscle sheath on the front of my abdominal wall. They've done so because my uterus keeps trapping my ovaries underneath it and then everything gets stuck down with endo... They're hoping it will slow down the recurrence of the endo as I've had 6 laps in as many years. Here's hoping...

I read up on the surgery. It sounds horrible!! I found a guide for a surgeon to perform it. Hat off to you girl! I hope you're feeling better. I have my fingers crossed for you!
