Round 6 of Clomid- Anyone still have a Positive Attitude??

Postby Nicole1693 » Wed Sep 04, 2013 6:49 pm

Hello Ladies...I was wondering if I was alone with the whole taking clomid for what seems like an eternity and still have not gotten pregnant. I'm 29 and my DH is 26 we have been trying for about a year. I 'm on my 6th round of clomid and have had no luck. I have had my tubes looked at and look good and my DH's SA looks good. I have been charting and been using preseed and opk's. It's all just so exhausting.

Today I am on CD14. I got a positive OPK this morning, however last month I got a positive on CD14 and bgd every day for a week and a half after that and still didn't get pregnant. With clomid I am 32 day cycle, without 26 days. Per my calender it shows me ovulating on CD18 so i have no idea when I'm going to ovulate until I see the rise in my temp. I had two positives last month CD14 and CD16 can't really explain that. My husband and I have our 1 year anniversary on September 22 and that is when AF is expected lets hope I get a big surprise instead!!

ANyone else on Clomid and having a hard time getting pregnant?

Hey Nicole- thanks for starting the new post. My AF is due on October 6 which is also our 1 year anniversary! Maybe we will both be lucky and get the best anniversary gift of all. I set up an appointment for mid October to do further testing (unless I get pregnant of course.) SA for DH and probably HSG for me. Has the doctor said anything to you about next steps or how long he will keep you on Clomid??

Hey Nicole,
I am on round 8 on clomid (started in November) so it's been on and off. August was our first iui but bfn. Actually I am pretty sure I had a chemical first one ever. Long story I won't get into.
So I have a clockwork cycle with or without clomid. 30 day cycle usually with clomid I O cd 14-15. Depending on when I take the pill. September will be 8th month and 2nd iui. I also take metformin, progesterone 3 days from O and aspirin. I'm taking 50mg all along cause I usually O on my own anyways this clomid is just for a boost.
Of my 7 so far cycles only 4 of them I got 2 follicles other months were just 1. So that's weird. I had a lap, hysteroscopy in may to remove endo and fix a blocked tube. I should be pregnant by now but gosh we've been at it ttc for 5 years! I'm 28 dh 26.
Good luck girls!
Hey all!
I'm 27 yrs old and ttc for 5 years! Dh is 26 and we have an 11 year old daughter, she's dying for a sibling. I have done clomid and other fertility meds and just had lap surgery in may. Hoping for our bfp since we had the surgery to clear things up including endo and a blocked tube.
Wishing good luck to all you ladies and me of couse :-)

I wish Clomid would regulate my cycle. I thought it was supposed to. I thought it was working because the first 3 months were 30 day cycles. Then 34 and then 33. Blah.... Missy, everything sounds good on your side. So frustrating for you that you are not pregnant yet! This may be a dumb question, but how many follicles is typical for a normal cycle? I've never had an ultrasound to check follicles. Maybe that's a next step for us...

Frankme- Awww I hope we both get pregnant on our one year anniversary that would be amazing! I would def get the testing done. My DH and I had it done. Just beware if your insurance doesn't cover it, it costs around $1300 but as I look at it like this, it's better to know if your tubes are blocked or not. Plus they say that you have a higher chance of getting pregnant within three months of having the test because if you do have a blocked tube it could flush it out. Fingers crossed though you won't need it!

I got a positive OPK on CD14 the same as last month, which is weird. Had a negative the next morning then last night it was positive again. I have no idea when I am actually ovulating. My temp has not shot up yet so I'm not sure if I have ovulated yet. So I'm going to keep testing with my OPK's.

Missy- Thanks for joining the thread!! I'm so sorry to hear about your first iui that has to be so hard, but just know you have us to talk to about it if you need to. Can I ask you a question? Since insurance doesn't cover infertility how much is the iui and or being monitored? Because in a few months I will need to see a specialist and will have no idea what they will want to do. We have to look at this way we are still young and still have a fighting chance! Going through all of this is hard but in the end when we are all pregnant it will be so worth it!

Ps. My doctor didn't tell me this, I asked the pharmacist but you are not supposed to take IBuprofun while on clomid. Apparently it effects the lining of the uterus and can pretty much cause clomid to not work. My dumb butt didn't know any of this and have been having headaches the last 5 months while on this and have been taking it. Just thought I would let you know just in case.

Nicole-
I checked what I was charged for the iui procedure itself and that was $200 than if you add any blood draws and ultrasound monitoring your looking at another 300-400$.my insurance pays for the blood and ultrasound but not the iui. I don't mind paying this $200 though its well worth it.
I didn't know about the ibuprofen and clomid thing. Although I don't take it muxh my dr told me to do aspirin- buffered! I guess it helps with the blood flow to the lining. I always have a lining of 13-16 so it's not been affected by clomid thus far

Thanks for the information Missy!!! I'm hoping they can cover the ultrasound and bloodwork...I wonder what they would code it as when sending it to the insurance company.

How are you ladies doing? I'm on cd 18 right now....I have had no positive opks since cd 14. My calendar says that I'm suppose to ovulate today. And FF says per my temp I have not have ovulated yet. I'm SOOOOO FREAKING CONFUSED!!!

Hope you ladies are doing better than me!

I am not sure of the actual codes as I didn't write them down! :-/
I'm on cd 5. Doing our second iui this month with same regimen of meds. I think I had a chemical last month as I had all these very strong symptoms I've never had before it was insane! My estrogen was super high (higher than other months) on 7dpo labs. Got one faint positive after AF was late followed by negatives and spotting. Hoping for my miracle for September :-)

Hey girls. I had never heard that Ibuprofen can affect Clomid. Good to know. I'm on CD7. Yesterday we had to go out of town for a wedding and I forgot to take my Clomid before we left! I was so upset. I almost turned around and said forget the wedding, but I just decided to take two this morning instead. Not sure if that will mess everything up or not.

I was thinking that IUI would be a lot more than $200! That's comforting, although I'm hoping we don't get to that point. I keep reading horror stories about HSG procedures so I am praying that we get pregnant this month and don't have to do it!

Missy- that's ok you don't know the codes. I'm just hoping that it's not too expensive if I have to go to the specialist. Hopefully we get pregnant this month! Sorry to hear about your chemical last month. Fingers crossed for you for september!! I hope the IUI works!!

Frankme- I have forgot my clomid too - I just took one in the morning and the other at night. I don't know though if it affects anything. I doubt it because it's still in your system for the 5 days.

I'm CD 19 3DPO Fertility Friend has confirmed I ovulated on CD 16. So now I think I don't have a chance this month. We only bgd on CD 7, 10,14, 15 and 17. I had extreme pains on cd 16 and I couldn't bgd, now I wish I could of just sucked it up and did it. I probably missed my chance. UGHH another crap month! I'm so mad at my myself. It's kind of crazy because last month the same exact CD's I got my positive OPK, the ovulation pains and everything. I'm hoping next month
it will repeat and I then I will know the exact timing of ovulation. And bg on the day I have a lot of pain.

Hope you guys are doing better than me!

Nicole- I think your BD on 14 and 15 could have done it! I just read a story on here the other day where a girl said she and DH only DTD one time the whole month and it was 3 days before O and she got pregnant! They say there is a better chance if the sperm is up towards the tubes when the egg is released. Don't lose hope! :hugs:

Nicole- I hope we get our bfp too! But now I'm thinking my chances this month are slim!
I got my cd3 blood drawn and the e2 was 440. Supposed to be under 80. I think it was either from the chemical I had last month or the evamist(estrogen spray) the dr had me use cause clomid makes me dry. Needless to say I'm not using that spray again it's got me all screwed up! I'm not sure that September will be my month. Trying to build my faith!

I'm getting worried about September cycle too. I have to go out of town next week for work and of course O will be right around then. With my luck I will get my positive OPK the morning I leave :( But let's try to stay positive. You always hear stories about BFPs when they thought they were out or "weren't trying."

Missy- Why would they take your blood on CD3? Did they do the IUI already? I don't know how all that works. But I wouldn't lose hope you haven't even ovulated yet. Can't that number raise within a day even? But having a chemical can poss screw up how your body functions for the following month. Sometimes people have to wait a month or two before trying again, but hey I would continue trying if my doctor didn't say anything about it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. ANd I'm always dry- can you use preseed. It's amazing!

Frankme- Thanks!! I hope that is true! I have not been such a nutcase this month like I usually am. I think I'm just tired of getting all excited and then get disappointed 3 days late. Bg until you have to leave and if you can get a quickie in right before you leave that would be good! I really hope you get your positive OPK today ! What CD are you?

I am on CD20 my temp is still up today. But when it gets closer to AF time it usually drops so hopefully this month it will stay high!
